Hurricane

GUEST
Well I am preparing for the Hurricane and here in New Orleans when things start to look bad we go out and buy a bunch of plywood to board up the windows. Well I guess you know where I am going, but boy was this fun. I watched SUV after SUV struggle to put a few pieces of plywood in their vehicles and I even saw some truck owners with a problem. Of course it was pouring down rain and the truck guys were get their newly purchased lumber soaking wet. And then I pulled up for 10 sheets of plywood. Dropped the midgate and loaded 10 sheets then closed the tailgate. Everyone else just kind of stood around and stared! I think this is a great truck.

Good luck with the storm. I know what it's like (Andrew 1992)

Looks like you could get hammered in a few days. Our hopes are its moves west away from U.S. Board everything up an head north. Good Luck!!!!

Well, lets hope no one suffers any uninsured damage and no injuries. I live in dallas, I just want some rain.

You could be a little more optimistic for me, but yea I agree it's not looking good now. It is supposed to take a strong turn north.

Its only a little water!

I will take all the snow that can drop before I take wind and water.

Good luck with the storm.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Natural disasters suck, I lived about 10 miles from the epicenter of the CA Northridge quake back in 94 now I'm just waiting for the next one. :-[

Hey I hope it misses the US all together. We have Goo's birthday trip and a Houston Chapter meeting planned for this coming weekend. :cautious:

We who live in the deep south will be watching this hurricane....

They are already planning evacutation routes etc..

Gabe it is great getting lumber in this truck during the rain.....

I have my collection of crappy plywood already for this storm...I also bought some 2x4 to brace the garage doors so they do not blow in...

I saw some pics of the damage in Mexico from this storm......These things can be baddddddddddddddddd :cautious:

Good Luck. May God Bless and keep ya'll save.

If it makes it all the way over here! Then we are talking a serious hurricane. (It would have to cross the planes states, the rockies, the west planes, and then two more mountain ranges. No huricanes here. A coule tsunamis, but no huricanes.

Again, Good Luck. May God Bless and keep ya'll save.

Gabe,

Good luck down there in the Big Easy. I we to LSU and everytime we got a hint of hurricane in South LA we all had to jump through hoops. Be careful. Good story about the plywood.

I love hearing about the story of the AV doing a better job of a Truck than Trucks ;D Hope everything come out OK with the hurricane. We would love to have some of that moisture up here in Kansas.

I have been trying to convince a friend of mine to get an AV, but he say's he wants a big Bed. I will have to print out your post and show it to him.

I live in Mobile, Alabama on the coast and we're watching it too. It's just a tropical Storm now and still over the Yukitan, but it's forcast to be in the North West Gulf by Thursday, If it hit's anywhere in La. We'll get some too! Not only that, but watch out for Lilley! She just was upgraded to a Tropical Storm going the same path as Isadore started with! We might just see if the AV leaks anywhere!! :B:

I was in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico on Tuesday. The first rain bands hit Wednesday morning. I just barely made it out on the cruise ship in front of that storm.

Hopefully its not following me home.

I've got great admiration for those who put up with hurricanes repeatedly! Central North Carolina where I grew up didn't get a hurricane until 1989 with HUGO . . sure made a mess of my parents place!

I wish you all the best with the passing of this storm!

IZZY is off land and heading out into the GULF of MEXICO............Grrrrrrrrrr...

The weather people predict it to hit Louisiana late this week........GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Yeah, Hugo tore up our place here in SC. I wish you well down there. Heed the warnings and move out. Don't try to stay in the area.

The only experience that I actually went through concerning hurricanes was back in 96 I think.....I was still down in Jacksonville, NC and the hurricane was dangerously close coming in from Wilmington.....shingles were flying everywhere and tree limbs were coming down left and right...not to mention trees themselves but none in the area I was in.....it was definitely a scary experience.... :B:

The dayum thing is coming...expected to be here Thursday! :8:

Some businesses shutting down already so workers can prepare!

I live and work in Lafayette and even though it is expected to head towards NO we are still taking numerous percautions. Good luck to everyone in the NO area if it continues that way. Our best bet is for it to die out in the Gulf.

Isn't there 2 more hurricanes behind it though? Kyle and Lili I think? Currently in the Bermuda area kinda following the same path?

I leave for Cancun next friday....great! :6:
