I was disappointed to see that my Hypertech Power Programmer only goes to 33" tire size. :8: :7: I have 35" A/T's. Has anyone contacted Hypertech on this issue? Is there a software upgrade version to accomidate tires over 33"? :B:

From what I hear hypertech never upgrades
their software...Read some of the stuff about
Hypertech. You may want to look in to the
other programmers and see what they do.

If I were you I would PM a couple of the guys on
the site with lifted trucks like yours and programmers..

I talked to Rod at www.lildevilmotorsports.com regarding tire size on the predator, he said the predator can go up to about a 35 or 36" tire.....

Great guy and easy to deal with....

(I also spoke with Johan at diable, and he said programming for 35's can be done with the predator)

If you cannot get the hypertech to do it, might try putting your AV back to stock, sell the Hypertech, and buy the diablo.....

Added advantage of the diablo is the fact that they will do a custom tune suited for the mods on your truck, and the area/type of driving you do, and e-mail it to you, you then download it onto the programmer and then go to your truck and download the custom tune....

(I do not currently own a programmer, but have done some investigating and read alot of the threads pertaining to them on this site....)

Response from Hypertech inquiry:

The tire size range is determined by how you answer the question
"Is your vehicle equipped with Traction Assist (Auto Trac)? Choosing NO
will give you a range of 24-44 inches in diameter. Choosing YES will
give you a range of 24-33 inches in diameter. If you have Traction
Assist we can not go above 33 inches.

Is "Autotrac" the same as "Traction assist"? I think Autotrac is on the 2WD's?

Going to 4.56 gearing. The 3.73 gearing is way too boggy on the uphills with the 35" tires....

I would go with a predator. However...it does have and glich in it. I have 4.56 gears in my truck as well...so I punch that in the predator, along with my tire size and my speedo was still WAY off. I dont think it is using the 4.56 for any calculation offset. I believe predator is aware of the problem but have not contacted them for any kind of update YET. My solution, as of now, is to lie to it on my tire size. Instead of punching in 325/60-18 I ended up punching 325/25-18 and It is right on. If you have not changed your gears yet and you go with the predator, you can go even go lower than 4.56 ratio.

Have you actually measured your tires? They may only measure 34"...mine measured a lot shorter than the actual listed height.
