Unfornately I have to say YES.. And it was at the Paris Landing GTG.. Nothing worse than pulling out of a parking spot, and bam it falls.. Worse yet, having a whole bunch of people yelling your tailgate is down..

As a matter of fact it happended twice two weeks ago. I love my AV but that really does appear to be a major design flaw. I know I lost a good deal of stuff going down the highway after coming from Home Depot. To date my only noticible battle scar on the AV is the resuly of the tailgate falling on the receiver part of a trailer I was towing. The plastic around the tailgate lock has a nasty crack in it. But it really does'nt bother me until somone else points it out.

It used to happen with my 02 if I did'nt push down on the right side of the gate.
No problems with the 04 though, shuts like a car door

I did that the night I brought the av home from the dealership. Pulling out onto the street POW scared the living crap out of me and my wife

I slam it shut and give it a pull test now EVERY TIME

This happened to me TODAY !! I've had my AV 1 week. Was backing out of a parking spot (still getting used to that) and heard a SLAM. I though i ran over/ hit something....scared the crap outta me.

Nope. I slam it good though. I DO have to recheck it after the wife closes it though. She only gets it to the first latch, not the second.
