Ever throw something on top of your cargo covers only to discover that they aren't all that scratch resistant?

Ugh. The LAST time I volunteer to help a girl move. GRRR! :E:

Got a 3 inch scar in my last cover, so its visible for me to look at EVERY time I walk away from it!! :E: :7:

...and after I did it I was making up my own four letter words. :E:

again...veeeeerry carefull with these...

Mine are scratched all up, but hey, there plastic. I have the same rule for the cladding: If it gets scratched, who gives a f**k? Its not like its going to start rusting because of the scratch. Its there for protection. Each little scratch = each time its done its job. That and the fact that they just plain build character.

does having one fly off at 40 mph count?

I did this also :E:

Story:

I had my tailgate up and the number 3 bed cover unlocked with the unlocked handles resting on tailgate spoiler. I did this to allow just enough room for one of my fishing poles to hang out the bed as it was too long to fit in the closed bed. While driving the truck, I made a 90 degree turn and the bed cover flew off and cracked the handle tip.

Moral:

Don't ever drive the truck with the last bed cover not locked it FLIES off easily.

Although technically not the covers, I got a cut in the top edge of my tailgate when moving, so I figured that was close enough and voted yes.

Yep, about a week into owning my AV I discovered that cardboard boxes sometimes have staples in the bottom and those staples can scratch.

Now I'm very careful about sitting or sliding things on the covers. I cringe when someone else puts anything on them either.

My panel closest to cab came prescratched, 2 long zigzag lines like some drunk tried to outline a dinner plate. I haven't added any scratches myself yet.

Never stack or slide your cargo covers on top of each other, especially in the winter. :E:

I stack mine but always turn middle one over. :p

When I bought my S-10 I went camping first week. A guy sat on my tailgate and slid off. The :7: idiot had those rivets that stick out on rear pocket corners and they dug thru the paint. Now when anyone is near my trucks I always look at thier a$$. >:D

not yet but I am sure it is only a matter of time.

Yep guilty of that also. What makes it so incredibly bad is that it happened when I was hauling perhaps the lightest of any object I've ever hauled... A simple screen door!! Boy was I PI$$ED!!!
