I went on eBay looking for some good deals and I ended up winning a few auctions. One of the auction was for a SubSolutions 2X, which I paid $112 with shipping and the other was for a brand new Jensen 500w Amp for $63.94 with shipping. I can honestly say that I saved some money.

Now here's my question. I'm planning on changing the factory speakers. Do I need to get a second Amp? Why can't I just use one Amp? Also, Should I get component speakers for the rear as well as the front?

And while we're here might as well get this one out there too. I had a Kenwood KVT-910DVD. If I'm not mistaken, do I connect my Amp RCA's to the Preout? I have 3 sets of Preouts, 1 Non-fading Preout, 1 Rear Preout, and 1 Front preout. Which one do I use?

If I decide to get a second Amp that means I have to run the speaker wires myself, correct?

I'm able to do all the stuff myself, it's just I like to do it the first time and not to take it all out and start from scratch.

Ok. I want to thank everyone in advance for helping

Irontrain covered most everything but to answer your amp questions, you did not mention how many channels this amp has and if it supports bi-wiring or tri-mode or if it has any pre-amps on it. Depending on how "beefy" this amp is, you may be able to use it for the sub enclosure or you may have to wire in another small Class D amp for the enclosure.

Does this amp have many crossover adjustments on it?

Componenets or coaxials it's up to you. ?Many here have done both. ?Persoanlly I love my new Pioneer Rev series coaxials.

IT & C-Rod covered about everything else. ?If you're not going to get another amp to run your door speakers, then I would suggest bypassing the factory amp & running them off your HU. ?If you have a 4 channel amp, check out my pics & set-up for an example of how to run a whole system off one amp. ?I ran all 3 preouts back from my HU. ?I am planning on adding a second amp in the future.

I would not recommend using that amp for both the speakers and your subwoofer. IMHO use it for one or the other.

But keep in mind that this amp doesn't have much juice to drive the sub enclosure you got that should get somewhere near 300+ Watts.

As far as the factory amp by-pass goes. I tried it and it didn't sound good at all. I couldn't turn up the radio. If I would go past 15, it would get all distorted. Mind you that the HU goes to 35.

My HU has a maximum of 45 X 4 output. Is that sufficient?

So should I just use this amp to power my door speakers and buy another amp to power my sub?

How big of an amp should I get for the sub?
What kind of amp should I get for the sub?

Your HU @ 45 x 4 is better than the factory. Depending on what you are looking to achieve, you might be happy just having your HU power your speakers.

You could then use that amp to power the sub box but I would recommend bridging it so you can get 350 W @ 4 ohms. The box you bought is a 4 ohm box.

you should be ok with this setup for awhile and when you want to upgrade all you would need to do is get another amp for the doors.

Good Luck!
