I finally got my new av.

I bet you're glad they totalled the other one! This would likely be a "nightmare repair story" thread if they had TRIED to fix it.

Congrats on the sweet deal.

Last I recall, they were leaning towards fixing it and replacing the frame. Did they go ahead and finally total it, or did they fix it and you right away traded it? I don't recall hearing the end of the story for the old one.

Congrats!!!

Make sure you tell your insurance co. you have OnStar, it saved me $64.00 every 6 mo.

Also you might check if your insurance co. has a group rate for being a member of Sam's Club. I'm with Citizens and save about $300 a year on my auto insurance and over $500 on my house insurance just by paying my $35 membership a year.

Thanks everyone.

Allstate ended up totaling out my old AV, The dealer couldn't get the parts in time for me to get the AV back. They also couldn't get a new frame.

So THANK GOD I bought RC coverage (replacement cost) Allstate paid me msrp for the last AV, and I got the new one.

It's clean, the white one are soooo nice. Can't wait till the weekend when I get to see it.

I'm in Tulsa OK right now and the AV is in Oklahoma City, 2 hr drive back home. It was brought back to the dealership for a cracked foglight housing. Rear door plastic was peeling, steering wheel was a little crooked to the left, and got the chrome side steps installed.

This weekend i'm having chrome escalade wheels put on. So i'll take pictures then.

It's gonna be a pretty one!

Also i got them to Detail and wax the puppy too!

A Great salesman is all it takes.

Andrew

If one of you live here in Oklahoma and want a great deal on a New AV or Chevy let me know and i'll get you the man that can make it happen.

I happy to see things worked out for you in the end andrew...from the looks of your sig you wound up with one heck of an Av.....and a great deal....good luck... :B:

Guys I'm Back with my New AV.

I'll take pictures when I get the Chance.

This time around I got it loaded out. ?Z71, Leather, Heated Buns, Onstar, White Letter Tires, Chrome sidesteps & sunroof, only thing missing is the roofrack. ?

I went back to the dealer and told them what had happen to my AV, and the manager insisted the car salesmen do whatever it took to get me into one.

I got a really good deal on it. ?
MSRP ? ? ? ? ? ? $38800
Purchase ? ? ? $32300
Plus I got 0% financing.

Now I got to afford the insurance on the beast ;)

I only paid 1300 more for this one and it got the works.

Build date 12/01.

Thx Everyone,

Andrew
Congratulations on your new AV!! Did you ever get any pictures of the wrecked one? I never saw them on your other post.

Andrew,

It's really good to hear everything worked out for you.

We all felt your pain and loss and now we all feel your joy and excitement.

Good luck with your new "baby".

RichUF FINALLY owns an Av!...well not really, GMAC does, but I've got one in my driveway!!! ?

After about 6 months of lurking (beginning when this site had about 10 or 20 members) followed by 304 days of membership without actually owning an Avalanche, I finally got my '03 LPM Z71 a year earlier than planned.

Thanks to the Chief and all of you "old timers" (registered early...not a crack on anyone's age!) around here who have been very friendly, even to this non-owner.

A very special thanks to CAFCNA member and region II coordinator planetav...he and the dealership for which he works made for the best car purchasing experience I've ever had, and I'm looking forward to meeting up with him and other members in the region soon.

I'll post some pics as soon as I figure out how (never had a reason to until now ;D )

That is GREAT NEWS RichUF (y) (y)
Congrats on the long awaited arrival ;D

Hey Rich,

Thanks for your comments. Glad to help out another member. I'm glad you finally did it. >:D

Congrats Rich!!! It has been a long time coming....

Go mod right now!! Start with the Amber DRL's (y)

Great news Rich! So what's first? ;D

Anyone wanna start a "pool" to see how long it takes him to learn how to use the camera now that he has an AV to play with in all his free time? (Who wants to learn camera stuff when they can play with their AV?)My guess is a week at least!
JK, Congrats on your new purchase! You will love it!

I have some pics of him changing the amber drls...before he left the dealership.. >:D

will be posted tomorrow. I dont have it on my laptop...

Congrats!!! it is always nice to see a new Avalanche owner. Enjoy your new Avalanche.

Well mate I'm glad you finally done it. Congrats and well done. Now if I can get mine within the next 30 days then I'll beat you... but on the bright side, I'm sure 302 days of membership is the longest that anyone has gone so far. However I think we can expect AvRunner to break that record... eventually.

BTW... I'm going to merge this thread with the "I've just go my av" thread. You know how it goes... keep all the like information together.
:-*

thanks for merging, Skidd...I figured there was one thread for announcements but I didn't search any further than the first page in my excitement. ?I'll just have to go modify the beginning though as it makes no sense without my thread title!

Don't worry, I'll figure the pic posting out. ?I'm guessing I have to go to one of those free pic hosting sites. ?What's the prefered ones these days?

Wife (CFO) says I gotta go slow on the mods...like planetav said, we changed the drl's before I even drove the first mile! ?I'm sure I'll do intake and exhaust, but my wife said she's leaving if I don't get her some steps first! ?She did say "Isn't it supposed to rumble a bit more than that?"

Anyway, thanks again all.

Rich

OK, I put a quick picture of my new Av on a [lame AOL] homepage. ?You have to click the house icon thingy to see it until I take the time to figure out how to post in my sig or directly in a post. ?I'll try to put one in showing me changing my DRL's before driving my first mile. ?I'm loving every second of my new truck!

Rich

P.S. that's planetav's really cool SOM Z66 in the background.
