I finally got my new av.

Yes, folks I picked up my '03 arrival blue Z-71 this evening. 3 weeks to
the day. I LOVE it!! Couldn't show it off to anyone, didn't get out of dealership until 8:45pm. Yes, it even came with a "full tank of gas". I'm so excited. Don't have a digital camera, so I don't know if I'll be able to get pics of it on here or not, but just wanted to let you know it's in!!

Congrats Dreamwolf_6

Welcome to the wonderful world of AV's

I expect it will be an awesome ride for you!

Congrats dreamwolf_6 on your new AV. Which AV did you get?

The new baby is an '03 Arrival Blue Z-71 with running boards, xm satellite, dk. charcoal interior and seating for 6 with the front bench
seat. I got the 0% financing deal also. It was well worth the wait. I LOVE MY NEW RIDE, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!

:B: :B:

Let me give dreamwolf_6 a hand. Here's the new ride:

Congratulations!

After months of looking I finally got my Avalanche. ?I would go to the local dealerships and have them do a dealer locate to find the "perfect Avalanche" ?with everything I wanted on it, and no one could find it. ?So, everyday for the past two months, instead of resting after a hard day of work, I would get on Chevrolet.com, and do my own dealer locate in all the cities I could think of in Texas, and search in a 150 mile radius of each city. ?I would do this for at least ?two hours every night. ?I looked at hundreds, maybe even thousands of different Avalanches on numerous dealer lots via the internet. ?I found one to my liking located 160 miles away from where I live. ?I wanted my local dealer to do a trade with that dealership in order to keep me from driving that far. ? They were willing to do so. ?But, I had never seen an Avalanche like this before (Arrival Blue Without Body Hardware), so I decided to drive the 160 miles to see it. ?I fell in love! ?The only problem was, that dealership seen how interested I was in it, and when I asked them to do a trade for me to a local dealership, they flat out refused. ?To make a long story short, I drove back four days later and bought that Avalanche. ?Don't get me wrong, I love the Avalanche with the body hardware, and that is what I wanted all along. ?But after seeing a white one in the area without the body hardware, I decided to go that route. ?I know some out there, will say, that since it does not have the hardware, that it is not a true Avalanche, but I am more than happy with it. ?It is a 2003 Arrival Blue without body hardware, with charcoal leather seats, Z66, Onstar, XM Sattelite, Bose speakers, 6 disc CD player, steering wheel controls, wheel flare and molding package, stainless steel tubular steps. ?The only thing it did not have that I kinda wanted was a sunroof. ?But, I was afraid in the long run, that it might leak, so I am sorta glad that I could not find one with a sunroof. ?I hope that in the future I can get a digital camera and take a picture and post it on the fan club. ?I am very proud of this truck. ?I have always driven Silverados, and Sierras, but I must say, that saying I now drive an Avalanche, it makes me feel great!!!!! :B:

wow, I am glad I am not alone.
Been going to dealers looking for about 3-4 months. Brochure is standard bathroom reading for me. Been building on line for weeks.

I knew I wanted the following:
- Black
- Z71
- leather
- convience pkg
- security pkg
- roof rack
- dvd player
- side steps (for kids and wife)

It was impossible to find one with a dvd player. Dealers would locate it for me but i really wanted to see it first. Finally while searching online one night i found the dealer that actually had 2 of them only about 45 mins. from my house.

Well, tomorrow I will own it! They really did a nice job with the dvd player, the inside roof is shaped differently so it almost looks built in instead of just stuck up there.

Congrats to you both!

Thunter. Your choice was awesome... I saw a blue z71 WBH at a nearby dealership. VERY NICE... sounds like you got the right package... NICE JOB

MD Avalanche, Looks like you got a winner. That Black truck is a beauty!

HAPPY MODDING TO YOU BOTH!!!!!

CONGRAT'S-ENJOY -I'VE HAD MINE FOR OVER A YEAR AND IT STILL SMELLS NEW-BUT I ONLY HAVE 6300 MILES ON IT-NOT MY EVERYDAY DRIVER. I KEEP THE KEYS HIDDEN FROM THE WIFE. ;)

Let me see if I can help anyone elselookin to do this and save some time. Dealers are always ordering vech. They randomly placed orders weekly based on some recommended packages from Gm Ford ect. A dealer must confirm their orders once a week...THe Avalanche is confrimed on Tues...at least in the northeast.
What did I do.....once I decided the options I wanted I went to a dealership in my area...asked if they would sell a AV at invoice....one would one would not.....I asked what was in the que for orders...we picked a AV in the que changed to the options I wanted and hopefully 4 weeks later my AV arrives.

Congrats folks. There's a few Arrival Blue WBH's here and they do look nice! I was not a fan of the color when it first came out but I've grown to like it. And I think it looks even better without the cladding. And you can never go wrong with Black! Light cladding, dark cladding with molding, without molding, they all look good. ;D (y)

I knew that info and was going to order exactly what i wanted. But, I wanted to find a dealer with one sitting on his lot to see if I could get a better deal. I am getting a $42,357 msrp for $36,900. Much better deal than i could get from a dealer who was going to order it. I think i am getting it for somewhere around 200-300 below invoice, & I don't have to wait any longer.

oh, & I am going with the 0% instead of the 4k back - putting $0 down!

Its good to see I am not alone! ?It is funny how the dealerships are all different! ?There was a dealership an hour away from my house with everything you asked for, including the dvd player. ?It would have been nice to have gotten that on mine, but I guess I could do as you did, and have one installed. ?It is not a priority for me, because I am single, and the only ones in my Avalanche are my niece and nephew. ?And that is very rare. ?About my niece and nephew. ?They did not want me to trade off my 2000 Silverado Extended Cab, they said it is too pretty and that I should keep it. ?When I told them that they would have their own door to open, and that there is a seperate radio just for them, they changed their minds! ?But, we haven't had a chance to use the radio back there yet. ?What makes me feel good, is they really like it! ?My nephew is 8 going on 9. ?He said, ?"Uncle Brian, will you keep this Avalanche, and sell it to me when I turn 16?" ?His dad is a Dodge man. ?I told him, that this Avalanche is going to be kept for a long long time. ?I normally trade off trucks every 5 years or so, but not this one. ?I think I am going to order him a kids shirt from the club that says "When I grow up, I am going to drive a Chevy Avalanche!" ?I am sure he would be very proud of that! :B:

Grats Thunter! Perhaps this pic from JasonC here will hold you over until you get a digital camera and send us your own.
