Just thought I'd share it with you. ?It's my first new vehicle purchase ever, and I am psyched. ?The WBH looks very SWEET! ?It's black with full charcoal leather interior.

I am in the Chevy family, and thanks to my Dad, who worked at the GM Tarrytown plant for 35 years, rest in peace, this was all possible.

Thank you Dad, I miss you.
Chris

Edit note: Topic changed to be more descriptive

Great! You will love the truck and thanks to your dad I know that you got a great deal.

Congratulations on your new truck....hope that you enjoy it as much as everyone else on this board enjoys theirs.....and btw..2 thumbs up for all the Dad's out there.....

Dave

Sounds great!! My mother and I are fans of the new WBH's, especially after seeing a new yellow WBH Z71 the other day. Maybe this summer I can talk her into a new one...

Sweet ride I think I have allready said this befor but I was one of the ones who did not like the WBH but after seeing pics (other then GM's) I am growing to like them I still perfer cladding but if they ever do away with the cladding I will still drive a naked AV (y)

Have you just picked up your new avalanche and want to brag about it?

Please post stories, thoughts and impressions about your new avalanche in here.

Skidd 7;)

;D I finally purchased a new avalanche this past SAT.
The forum here provides great info for new buyers. It is a Red Avy WBH, flares, Z71, Driver conv pack, 4.10.
I have already driven it 1200 miles in 5 days!!! No problems have occurred. This vehicle drives like a car, this is truly amazing. I traded a 2002 Z71 Silverado for it. I loved that truck but it does not compare to the Avy.
My favorite feature is the 4.10 axle ratio, great for lauching this 5600lb animal. I do have one serious issue to worry about. Driving down the highways of our great country, I worry that all those drivers passing by may sue me, they possibly could get whiplash as they rapidly turn there necks to get that 2,3, etc look. By the way got 18 MPG on a trip from Atlanta to Chattnooga.

ebris,
Congrat on the new wheels!

I finally had the chance to test out the AV cargo area last weekend when I had to haul four 12 ft x 12 in metal framed planks along with assorted other gear.

The guy I was helping out said that he was "amazed we could get everything in the AV." He said he looked at buying one last year but didn't think that the removable midgate thingy "would work." ;D

Now you know what we have been talking about! I wish I had those 4.10's when pulling my 5700lb camper!

I saw a new red WBH with flare package being prepped at my dealer yesterday. It looked awesome in person. The first red WBH I've seen. I'm glad I didn't see it before I got mine, it would have been a very tough choice.

I also just purchased my Avalanche (WBH) last week. I love it, but I do need to add wheel flares. Any suggestions on where to look for them?

amarum,

Buy your dealership's Parts Manager a fifth of Scotch and casually mention that the salesman screwed up your order.........and that you'd look very favorably on getting the correct GM Original Equipment parts for your vehicle....... >:D

OK, I'm kidding about the salesman, but do buy OE - the aftermarket stuff sometimes doesn't fit right, or after it goes out of fashion it's discontinued and you're hosed.....Keep it GM and you'll be happier than a pig in mud........... ;D

Jake

thanks lightbg,

I'm new to this. What does OE mean? I would try the scotch thing, but I live in Salt Lake City, and nobody here drinks (except me!)

Amarum, check out EBAY. the 02/03 suburban flares are the same. There are always complete sets on there for about 125$. They are the painted ones. You would have to have them painted your color. Every once in a while you see the black (non painted) ones on there also.

Yeah, I just picked up my new Avalanche 3 days ago. Lt.Pewter Mettalic, WBH, Z71. This is the ultimate vehicle. I can't wait to tailgate with it, drive it on the beach and take it wherever I want. I already have all my baseball & beach gear thrown in the back and I know with the summer comin' the coolers will get a workout ;) I've read the reviews you had on here before and now I see they were all true. This vehicle is the best, no other comes close. I'll post some pix once I get over the shock of havin this Avalanche. Once I picked up the truck I parked it in my driveway and then drove my 1987 Olds car with 185K (4cylinder eng.) right to the crusher. Life has just begun.

Do the puddle lamps turn on when you open up your doors or only when the unlock is pressed on the keyless entry remote? The book says both but mine only turn on with the remote. 2003 model.

ebris, you will probably find that it is progammable through the DIC, check the owners manual. (y)
