Search got me nowhere.  TC kicks in way too often and is really annoying. Tell me I can make it go away.  Best case scenario would be if I get to choose when it is on.  Can that be programmed in?

I think I red in the topic ( little known things about yor av), if you hold the tow, or haul button down for more then for seconds it turns it off. Double check thow before you do it....

You probably need to program it, it may be the throttle management system. But then you start breaking stock parts.

you don't have what model or year you have posted..

for the 2007 - current models you have a traction control button below the HVAC controls, 1 push turns of the TC, push and hold turns of the Stabilitrak and TC.

you would need to do this on every restart of the truck though..

not sure why you think it's a problem unless you are in 4x4 mode and off-road or in heavy snow.  the TC is there for a reason (when driving on streets and dry pavement) and you shouldn't ever know it is working unless the yellow TC light flashes on the dash..

I can see the issue while off-roading, which is why there is a button to turn it off..  I do believe this is explained in the owners manual..

Some times I hate posting after some post, get a HP tuner and take off some of the Throttle management.

why is that?

Because we are both Old School the AVs are computer controlled, remember I know you from www.gm-trucks.com

You have to reprogram the AV to make it a beast which it was never meant to be. No snipe (y)

everything today is computer controlled.  I drive a 1968 Thunderbird, and a 1971 Mustang Mach Mach 1, in addition to the AV, and I personally don't ever notice the TC, but like you said we are both old school and I learned how to drive long before the invent of Traction control and HAL the Torque Managment Nanny.

TC and TM doesn't mean much to me as I know how to handle and control my vehciles and have driven everything from Super Sport Motorcycles to 18 Wheel Semi's to 34 Wheel Military Transports, and even some 60' plus sea fairing crafts..

But I can understand the OP's issue off-roading, but as I said, that's why there is a button to turn it all off..

Let's get over this, you are right and I'm wrong. It's  a AV. Do you know Monte carlo man

sorry I think we are missing each other here..  I am not arguing with you.  I understand the TM and or TC on the AV has to be programmed out it you don't want it ever..  my point is simply it can be turned off from a button in the truck which accomplishes the same thing for the current drive cycle, and doesn't make it detrimental during normal highway driving.

If people in general knew how to handle their vehicles (not speaking at or about anyone in particular, just the general public) things like Torque Managment and Traction Control would not be needed, but the fact is that most people step on the gas, aim the car in a direction and hope they get to point "B" without incident, they don't know the first thing about how to control a vehicle during normal driving much less in an emergency situation..

as far as just turning it off, in my 08 i can just turn it off , but as far as permanatly shutting it off , u'd have to program it , i personaly hate TC , especialy the way it just shuts off all the power,  I guess the majority of people dont know how to handle their vehicles , every car n truck made has to have it now .

i personally hate it... i hate how i have to hit a button before i can spin my tires. It blows! if people new how to drive you wouldnt need the button in the first place.. when i stomp the gas to spend my tires i want them to spin! not for traction control to pop up on my dash and just the engine rev up

:E: :E: :E:

I guess I didn't hold the button down long enough in the past to shut them both off.  Yesterday I drove around town on snow covered streets without TC going off all the time.  That is way better. Thanks
