I had a FM40 Installed (3" In, 2 1/4 Dual Out). All I have to say is DAMN! I sounds mean. I start my truck up, or even just driving by and I'm setting off car alarms! I ended up having the tips (SS Chrome) come out at 45 degrees. My friend wants his done now (It's not an Av....it's a Jeep, so if isn't as cool)! I'm going to try and get it on my dad's lift sometime soon and take some pics of the underside.

I've read a few threads that members went with even the FM50....only wishing to actually have gone the FM40 originally. My exhaust has a naice Deep Throaty sound, and when you step on it, it gives this back-flow rumble. You have to hear it to understand what I'm talking about....but it sounds Mean As Hell. I get heads turning all the time!

Want a GRRREEEAAAAATTTTT sound....

Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow with the Dynatech SupermaXX Header System >:D

Have it love it and set alarms off with it. Cops just love my truck >:D Great to see people shut up when they are revin there stangs camaros birds and ricers then you calmly get in the truck turn it on and only rev to about 2500 and see the look on everyones face. Especially if you leave the stock tailpipe on and don't use any flashy tips. They never expect the sound. >:D

You gotta love that sound....It's like Heaven to my ears

Guys,

Im interested in doing some exhaust work to my 2500, whats the best to do? should i just replace the mufler? Cat back? i want an agressive sound but no vibration inside the cabin. I checked at Truckperfomance.com and they sell the series 40 for like 80 bucks, is that all i need??? what about changes to the computer or anything, will my O2 sensers need to be re-programed or changed? I am not to up on the whole exhaust thing,

thanks

Looking to put a better exgaust system on my 03 1500 Z71. I am looking for a little better performance but really want better gas MPG. Do not want a lot of extra noise. Looked at the Corsa system but that does appear to have to much extra noise. Should I just leave it be or is there a better system for MPG that will not give a great deal of extra noise. Just installed the True Flow filter system. Time will tell if that helps any.

Ok peeps!!!
  :eek:HOLY SH!T!!!!!!!

The sound is unbeliveable. Sounds like a muscle car from the 60s with a big block and glass packs. You really have to hear it to understand what i am talking about. Install took a little longer than expected due to two minor set backs. Both set backs had NUTHING to do with the headers. First set back was a dead battery on the sawsall so the factory exaust took a little longer than expected to remove and the second set back was not relized till the end which made it take longer to correct. We put on of the gaskets on inverted so a spark plug was being blocked. We need to take the header off..not completely but all the bolts needed to be removed from the head so putting it back on was a beotch because of the stress of the whole system on the header. In all took us 8 hours with a lunch break and a dinner break to complete. The system was VERY straight foward and easy to install. Like I said before the problems were with the installers not the product. Very pleased with the craftsmanship and quality of this system.
As far as performance... got done about 10 at night and had to be in work at 4 am so really didn't have a chance to test it out but on my drive to work I opened her up and MY GOD what anight and day diffrence. Low end really picked up and also had great pulling in the mid range (ie highway passing) top end was sick but at 3am on a highway was not the time to be testing very much... lots cops hiding by me. Iw ill drive it some more and really get on it to see.

hope this wets your appitite

Not a prob Bill. If you listen real careful you can probably hear the rumble down there >:D

Jude,

LOL.....I'll keep my ears to the road for ya...

That was what I was going to ask you too....You know how mine has that real hard resonance with the True 40's....That goes away with the header install?....That's going to sound sooooooo sweet!!!!

Do you know if the Dynatech Header System will fit an EXT since it has the 6.0L?

seems like it should fit. the difference in the motors is internal. i could be wrong though. give them a call to see what they say.

They will. According to the instruction manuel they fit the 5.3/6.0L 1500 series trucks and SUVs so yes they will fit your application.

SOUND CLIPS!!! FOR ALL OF HUMANITY, PLEASE GIVE US SOUND CLIPS!!!
LoL >:D

So many mods, so little money. :6:

Uh, bonedog, headers can't take away resonance. But according to the Flowmaster rep I just met with today, the Super 40 will. Those considering the 40 series, shoud reconsider and try the super 40.

Same Flowmaster sound, no resonation (we will see about that, especialy on the 8.1)

Interesting :0: anyone have this muffler and care to comment?

Hey Muff,

I have to totally diagree...I know several people that have installed headers and "all" have said it cuts down on the resonance.....Not just on the #40's either.
