I Will Be In Minneapolis/St. Paul Area

There's not a whole lot of us in Minnesota :( , but so far all but me live in and around the Twin Cities. Jamie had tried to get ahold of everyone for a ride but not too much luck so far.

Thanks for responding all of you. I am in Bloomington. Have had the truck for about two weeks now and absoultly love it. The huskyDriver name does not refer to the truck but to the Alskian Husky's I drive as a sleddog team. A get together sounds fun,

Hi again, well it was a good weekend. First time in a while I've been able to relax. I was kinda bummed that I didn't see anyone though. I do have a count of the Av's I saw.
Friday (trip down) 4
Saturday (in the city) 4
Sunday (trip home) 19
I know everyone has thier own taste but I saw a SOM with a BRA, all I can say is ISH.
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Bloomington, parked next to a Caddy EXT. I want that light bar. I'll be commin down sometime next month again, I'll post when I know for sure.
 
Depending on the weather up here I'll come down for the day. If it's snowing or too cold to work in the yard I cant stand to sit in the house doing nothing, besides what's the difference spending 7 hours in the AV or in front of the TV. Just keep me posted.
 
I've got an Idea :)

What does everyone think of a winter BBQ. Ok, let me explain.

On January 17th - 19th we have a festival called Long John Days. On the 17th there's a concert by Starship with some other things goin on. On the 18th we have some winter races(I'll get more into that in a minute). On the 19th there's a ice fishing contest.

This is my idea, on the 18th during the races we gather and have a BBQ on the lake. The races consist of a bunch of crazy fools on 4 wheelers and dirtbikes with and without studs cruzing around a track plowed in the ice. We would sit on the lake at one end of the track and have a BBQ. Later in the evening they usually have a long john judging contest at one of the local bars. Hey what can I say we get board up here.

As some of you know I can get you some good rates on rooms.

Just a side note, if anyone likes to snowmobile let me know. There's a big rally that goes on here every year. I'll give you more info.
 
The first official gathering of Minnesota Avalanches.

We first met at the Target parking lot in Fridley, MN. First to arrive were AvalancheCamaroZ (Jason) and Jryther (Jon). Jim (Bowtie) and Jamie arrived soon thereafter. A little truck talk took place in the brisk, windy 48 degree cloudy day. After introductions and truck talk, we decided to head over to Biff's Sport's Bar for a little snack and knock back some suds AND most importantly, GET OUT OF THE COLD! Soon after we got to Biff's, Sandy arrived. We hung out and snacked on some good grub and had a great time getting to know each another. Since the sun was showing signs of peeking out behind the clouds, we headed out to the parking lot and showcased some of our mods. To take advantage of a good photo op, we headed to Moore Lake in Fridley. Our caravan of 5 Avs generated some interesting looks!

All in all, it was a good time and it was great that we finally got the ball rolling in Minnesota!

I love all AV meets and "sharing the love" of our rides.
 
It was great getting to meet brother (and sister) AVers. I enjoyed the camraderie, and feel confident that this was just the first of many gatherings. Lets do it again!!! (y)
