IDEAS for 2004 East Coast Regional Meet

If we go to Nashville will Wiki wear chaps and a cowboy hat and a big belt buckle?

;D

Kim

I'll wear my hat, buckle, & boots... no chaps though :2: Nashville's cool with me. :0: Kim you'd only have radar protection from me for 200 miles. :p

My vote would be for TN or KY.

MB or OBX too far and more than likely very expensive for accomidations.

I don't want to waste ALL my MOD money.

Just make sure to have enough shirts.

Speaking of which, are more of the 2003 shirts going to be sent out soon??

We will have t-shirts for the ECRII.
But, like last time I will take orders, and sell them there.
I can't afford to pay fo rthese out of my pocket, only to go home with 25 or 30 extras though. It takes away from my Moding money.
As I explained at the ECR, I tried to hold on to your shirts for as long as possible, but you showed up late (late Saturday, if I remember correctly). So I sold your shirts to the first taker (during the raffle). I'm sorry (again).
I just can't afford to hold shirts for people that might, or might not, show up.
Yes, there were a few people that didn't show up.
Maybe we can do a PayPal thing next year, so I have the money to pay for the shirts up-front. We have pleanty of time to work out the details. I hope that you understand my perspective.

As for the 3002 ERC t-shirts. I only had your order and 1 other t-shirt requested.
I can't go back to the screen printer and request 3 or 4 shirts. Too cost prohibitive.
You did get your free t-shirt thought, and from what I understand a discounted registration fee ($0).
We'll work out the bugs/details prior to the ECRII.

Rob

So - just a thought here but what about 2 different places at the same time - Nashville for those that are within a days drive and Myrtle Beach for those within a days drive, it would appear to be somewhat of an even split if I read it right - course I realize that idea wont set well with some BUT please it is only a suggestion so please be easy on all the negative Karma hits I have received lately!

That is a great idea - you should set up a paypal account like Ed did with the bumper flags and get your money in advance - Heck you could even design shirts for other cruises and sell them to coordinators or attendees and get a little side business going. I know I would be interested in paying ahead of time and also getting to work with you on some t-shirts for some of our BIG TEXAS GTG'S. (y) ;) :) :D

UPDATE

We are currently putting together a committe that will be in charge of a few areas:

1) Sponsors, T-shirts
2) Graphical Design, Internet, and Info Books
3) Social Hour and Late Night Events
4) Press and Addvertising

All other things, PlanetAV and Myself feel we can handle. I will be contacting those we are looking at to help us out this year. This committee we feel will let us put more time and effort into each area and allow us to work on other things. I will be waiting to contact and announce these 4 people until after PlanetAV gets back from visiting his grandmother.

As for 2 separate ECRM's in 2 different areas, I think it would probably be better for us to stick to 1 Regional meet per Region. That way there will still be several Regional events, and each Region can put all effort into that 1 event. Splitting it up will also split up sponsors, attendees, and friends.

We haven't picked an area yet, and won't for a while. Just keep an open mind to whatever place is picked. Just like last year, Pigeon Forge and 2 other areas were about evenly split.......we had to pick 1 and it turned out FUN!

Wiki

Why dont you hold it in JERSEY SHORE AREA, cause I know no one is comming to NY. LOL

Also I can hook up great prices for tshirts stickers etc promotional stuff for the meet or anything promotional for CAFCNA.

Email me or PM me.

TexAVfan,
I would be happy to assist you with the t-shirts.
I will opening my PayPal account for payment on all future t-shirt orders, starting with the Savannah GTG.
I have a great vendor for these that gives me a great price, wish they were closer though (it's a 1 1/2 drive, each way) to his shop.
Just let me know.

Wiki....you called me the other day and I will be more than happy to offer my "social skills" to help out for next year. I dont care where the next ECRM is...MB...Nashville...don't care....I'll be there! Let's just get a list of "committee members" for this and lets get organized ASAP! The first ECRM was a huge success......despite the inclement weather and the....BEER ANTENA MOD! but this one can be even better! Wiki...I'll keep in contact with you and throw some "social" ideas at ya.

my vote is for obx.. sun, sand and 4x4.. >:D

of course, i really like the nj shore idea!! for the drive time.. no other reason.. lol.. >:D

my least favorite choice so far is nashville again because of the driving time but as the saying (sorta) goes, if you plan it, i will come!! ;D

As long as there is enough planning time to set up vacation, we would love to come to this event. Coming from NY, anywhere down south will be a day's trip.

Actually, I had offered to pay for my shirts well before the meet. I was asked to just pay for them at the meet.

I arrived at 3:30 AM on Saturday and was there bright and early in the parking lot asking about the shirts and other things. I had posted that I would not be able to get there until Saturday.

I was told repeatedly that things would get taken care of later in the day.

Yes you are correct, I got a free shirt (thank you again) and did not pay the registration fee. But look at it from my point of view:

Anything that went with the registration fee I did not receive (except for a shirt, which I offered to pay for). I was not at the BBQ, was not part of the raffle, nor anything else related to the meet.

I am not about to get into things that went wrong, this is not the place and things are done and over with.

If anyone has the graphics from the 1st regional, could you please email them to me. I will have them printed locally.

I saved the shirts as long as I could (I didn't see you untill Sat. evening when I returned from the mountains.) I guess it's my fault, and I'll take the blame.
Richard told me that a few were arriving late, and a few weren't coming. I should have saved them until Sunday afternoon. My Bad.
But, your right. This isn't the place to get into the details of that event.

If you want me to send you the files so that you can have your own shirts made up (for an event that that "...I was not at the BBQ, was not part of the raffle, nor anything else related to the meet.") I'll be happy to send them.

But, the back design alone is almost 22mb, so email isn't an option.
Do you have an FTP site that I could access to upload it?
Just PM me if you want.

Sorry again.

Rob

I had been to Nashville years ago, and always wanted to go back. Nashville is my first choice! (y)

Also, it would be nice if it were just a little bit later. Here in NY, the kids are still taking the required standardized Regents high school exams in mid June. I know most people were out of school by the time of ECR I, but not everybody had that luxury. :6:

Rob, I will PM the details for the FTP site.

Don't get me wrong I am not laying blame on anyone. lack of communication happens. I am a little frustrated because my son keeps asking when he is going to get his shirt and I haven't heard anything since then.

Peace,

Derek

A July 4th ECRII would be really cool!
Most everybody is on vacation around that time anyway.
Could add a lot to the celebration.
Just a thought (since I'll be in Canada the first week in June).

Your right about school. The fine line we walked then, and this year comming is spring break, and rates. Funny thing how hotels rates go up when all the kiddies are out of school >:D >:D >:D We will take that into consideration though this year! Sorry you couldn't make last year though. You were one of the people I wanted to meet! Gandolphxx was another that I was hopping could make it! Maybe he can make this years event.

Of course it was not my intention or suggestion to have 2 seperate events at the same time - only to have the events moved around for the convience of some areas. The idea was to have one event in the spring and one in the fall - or something like that - hit the areas during the right seasons, I only thought of this cause it gives all a chance to see mant areas of the Eastern US and allows for more people to help with planning as I know it is time consuming not only to plan but also to carry out the event - all to often those in charge dont get to fully enjoy the entire event! Please understand I want to attend as mant events as possible and would not intentioally schedule a major event on top of another!

Hey guys....

Help me understand the concept of East Coast Regional Meet. Before I joined, Wiki took the ECR ball, ran with it and success followed. Now in 2003 we have 2 East Coast Regions plus Canada.
Are we following the same thought process today for 2004 as in 2002 for 2003?

Hope that's only a simple question.

MIKE

How big is the ECR Mike? I only bring this up cause for you guys it is not as far - if you want to keep it stricktly East Coast that is cool we can rename the other something else - I was just interested in keeping the group that showed up at the last committed to show up for the next - and maybe attract a bigger crowd. You guys can do what ever you want - I am not involved in the planning or execution merely an interested attendee submitting my ideas - I though that was what this thread was for!

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh ;) ;) ;) I understand completely now!! ;D My bad! ;) ;D ;) I am still trying to figure out your humor......and now you throw me this curve ball >:D >:D

I like the timeframe we had it last year. Driving to anywhere from our area on July 4, Labor Day, etc. is a nightmare. We don't even bother going anywhere on those national holidays. It's not worth the agro. The major highways are just too saturated with bad drivers trying to figure out how to get to grandma's house.

Just my two cents.
