What would you do? ??? What would you change? ??? What you add? ??? What would you get rid of? ???
Looking for some ideas from all you Mod Artists out there!!! ;D

Color Keyed Cladding as an option ;D
Coat Hooks/Hanger Hooks
Back-up Sensor/Camera
6.0L Engine
Duramax Diesel Engine
Power Retractable Midgate Window

That's all I can think of for now.

Simply a button that you can press when wanting to lower the midgate, that moves the seats forward so that you can drop the rear seats easily.

I hate walking around to the passenger side to move the seat up 1 1/2 inches. I use preset #2 on the drivers seat when I get out to "change for a buck"

EXCELLENT IDEAS!!! ALL OF THEM!!

I would like to see a grenade launcher for the idiot in front of me, ?just kidding LOL!

actually, i would like to see the center console designed with 12volt adapter in the rear and a built in heater/ cooler for food storage.

a glove compartment with greater depth.

rear tailgate automatic lock.

hideaway tie-downs on the side storage lids.

storage compartements in the tailgate.

to name just few...

phil

I'd like to see a 60/40 split @ the midgate so that you can haul 8' goods and seat a third person (or fourth) in the back seat.

better placement for the xm/ os antenni. they look like little horns with their current placement.
I like the way they appear on the T blazers (c post)

WBH with bigger more useful bumpers

Built in ATM's... hehe

I would stretch the truck interior 6 inches, so that would give us taller guys more leg room with the midgate down.

OK imagine this in addition to the power midgate and midgate window -
1 button automatic, telescoping bed covers that retract to the midgate, then fflip and fold down into the midgate. Of course, the functionality of the midgate cannot be compromised(still fold flushed).
And then ownership in one of the newly available Iraqi oil wells.

Then I would vote for
power locking tailgate and side compartments
12 volt power in the bed
back up camera
fare and aft grenade launchers:)
ATM

Use up the dead space in the tailgate for snap in storage of the 3-piece bed cover. and make some loading ramps out of the tough plastic material that can slide in and out of preformed slots in the bed. Also of course remote locking tailgate, and 12V powerpoint access in the bed as well as power points for roof mounted lights!

Actually,l asomething like they have on the new tahoes would work just as fine, my mom got one recently, and when the rear seat folds down, the headrest automatically folds back so that it is positioned on the seat back.

I had this in my old Blazer, and it worked well. When the seats are folded, the headrest flips back so that while the seat back is horizontal, the head rest is now veritical.

The down side to this is that the bed length is then shortened by the thickness of the headrest. If I tried to load a table into the back of the Blazer, I had to lift it up to go on top of the headrest so that I had enough length in the cargo area.

In the case of the Av, I could see this being a problem when loading 4x8 sheet goods. To load it, you would have to push the sheet in most of the way, then go in the back doors and lift it over the headrests, probably from both sides at once. Then, by the time you have several sheets loaded, that could be a lot of weight on those headrests, not to mention that the load would not be level.

I can see this being a great idea 95% of the time, but there just has to be a better solution that will work 100% of the time.

How about a notch taken out of the top of the rear seat backs so that the headrest can be pushed down one more inch? Or simply make the head rest an inch shorter?

MojoAv,

I like your Idea for push-button bed cover, only modified to retract into the tail gate, sort of like a roll-top desk... ;)

I would fix the service 4wd issue  Also painted cladding.
Make the truck sit a little higher, like the HD's

- Tilt the rear window slightly forward or back: the reflection of dash gauges on the rear window into the rearview mirror is distracting when driving at night on dark roads.

- Stretch interior so us tall guys (6' - 4" myself) don't get so squashed when driving with the midgate down.

- Power rear window.

- Option for more powerful driving lights or light package -- %$^#& black wild pigs on rural Florida roads are difficult to see at night!

- Standard steering-wheel-mounted radio controls, at least on the premium packages.

- More radio/stereo options.

- Two rear-seat 12v. power outlets for car fridges and the like.

- Load bed 12v. power outlet standard.

- Better-looking beverage heater/cooler option. The one available is cheesy-looking at best.

- Cadillac EXT-type GPS nav system option.

- BIGGER third brake light on sail (as on EXT).

- Backup light upgrade option: this is a big truck, and the light from the standard bulbs is barely adequate under the best of conditions.

- LED tail lights and front turn signals: much more noticeable = improved safety. Or at least go to industry-standard electronic flasher unit for turn signals, allowing easy retrofit of LED replacement bulbs. When fitting low-impedance LED bulbs, cruise control quits working and turn signals flash "double-time."

- True HID headlight option.

Thanks for reading!

Electric rear window. ?I would love to be able to just roll it down into the midgate.
I can wish can't I?
I would NEVER give up the ability to run with the midgate down and the window in place to store 8' cargo and drive around in the rain without getting wet to have a pushbutton midgate window.

The only way to solve this would be to have the midgate window go up into the headliner instead of down into the tailgate.

Engineer THAT! :)

How about a storage well/subwoofer pit in order to allow a real subwoofer in place of the Bose "woofer" under the dash. - Or alternately a Factory JL Audio Stealthbox option. ?

While the thought of a power midgate window seems appealing at first, I have to agree with TXAVy. ?The ability to leave the window and bed panels on while carrying 8' of cargo is great in the rain and for security purposes.

OK let's see...
  • ?split folding midgate
  • ?cargo light switch in the rear
  • ?outlet right next to that switch
  • ?on-board ac
  • ?refrig comparment option in the side storage bins and in the center consoul
  • ?air compressor with neumatic outlet front and rear
  • ?snorkel
  • ?curtains
  • ?true quadra steering (not the limited one out curently)
  • ?turbo deisel
  • ?flaps on the midgate that would fold out to the sides when down to protect the door panels.

[*] Third set of doors so you could haul 12 (with the bench up front)
~ the bed would be propotionally shorter so the overall length is roughlty the same. The third seat would fold down with a midgate just like the current mid gate. ?The second row row would fold down and the midgate would flip another panel up to cover the second row seets.

That's all right now. ?I am sure I could come up with a ton more. ?The AV lends it self to mods so very well.

i would add, tire pressure gauges on dash.
standard power locking tailgate
wieght sensor to tell u how much u are hawling and towing on the dash. ( that would be nice.)

17" or 18" rims standard :D

tie downs are set higher on the bed

longer bed by 6"

crome door handles (cool)
brighter lights
and make the back seats longer by about 3 inches.

I would have power retractable outside rear view mirrors; provide a better looking runningboard with the factory package, similiar to a nice aftermarkets. Expecially for Z71. A "tailgate ajar" alarm. Make A/C cooling and heating mode more user friendly. Makes no sence to put heat in "red" max heating when the unit is in automatic.Does'nt seem very automatic to me. Improve mushy brakes. I love the idea of a 3-way switch from rear seating area or at least do like GMC suvs. Their headrest automatically flips back when seats are tilted forward. This would at least clear the offset behind front seats and then flip down. Have consol cover flip up and back rather than from driver side. Eliminate CD PLAYER and offer XM satEllite. I love my AV. It is 18monts old and will get a new one early 2004.
