Ignition switch wiring harness question

Question is about 2002 avy 1500 with 14 wire ignition switch wiring harness.
Has anyone replaced their harness? I have gotten everything disconnected , except for where the harness plugs into the junction box on the inside wire wall. I have remove the center screw but the harness still not pull out, i don't see any tabs or clips holding it. what am i overlooking? Thanks

Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle​

Tools Required
J 42759 Ignition Switch Connector Release Tool

Removal Procedure

Caution
This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

  • Air bag deployment
  • Personal injury
  • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
  • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
  • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument, Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the steering column trim covers from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  4. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors.1639614365167.png
  5. Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the steering column and the wire harness strap (2).1639614381089.png
  6. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly out of the bulkhead connector (1).1639614408243.png
  7. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the lock module assembly (2) in the following way:
    1. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
    2. Pull the key alarm connector (1) out of the lock module assembly (2).
  8. Remove the passkey connector from the lock module assembly (2).1639614440208.pngClick here for detailed picture of above image.
  9. Remove the connector (2) from the electric park lock (1), for vehicles equipped with floor shifters.1639614455103.png
  10. Remove the ignition switch (2) from the lock module (1) using the J 42759 .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ignition switch (3) to the lock module (1).1639614495394.png
  2. Install the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
    1. Push the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
    2. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees so that the key alarm connector (1) locks into place.
  3. Install the passkey connector into the lock module assembly (2).1639614512399.png
  4. Install the connector (2) to the electric park lock (1), for vehicles equipped with floor shifters.
  5. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch into the bulkhead connector (1).
  6. Object Number: 415293  Size: SH


  7. Attach the wire harness assembly (1) to the steering column wire harness strap (2).
  8. Object Number: 401496  Size: SH


  9. Connect the steering column electrical connectors to the vehicle.
  10. Install the trim covers to the column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  11. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument, Panel, Gauges and Console.
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
  13. It may be necessary to reprogram the theft deterrent system if the module was replaced. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent.

From the GM service manual it doesn't show any special tools needed for that plug, only the one to remove the ignition switch from the lock module (J 42759 Ignition Switch Connector Release Tool). Maybe just some WD-40 (or CRC Electronic Cleaner spray) and a good tug.

thanks for your reply, could be just really snug fit i guess, will continue to search for hidden tabs or something.
 
the screw will usually back the connector out, theres no hidden tabs or anything the screw is it
