Indigo Blue Gone For 2003

I was diaappointed to hear that the indigo blue is gone as well as the Z66 decals. I am glad I bought my Avalanche this year instead of waiting next year. Also sounds like the price went up and the standard equipment down graded for 2003 too. I wonder why Chevy did away with the inigo blue?

They added the Arival blue as well as the grey metallic. The 03 package is a little different but I think each model year has its positives. The 03 has a new interior look as well as different radio options.

The Z66 decals are still here for now. There are signs that they will go away. I need to follow up when I get back from SR 2002.

I think it was more than a fair balance of the equipment that became optional versus the new standard equipment. There wasn't a large increase in the base price but you do have better financing/incestives for the '02s.

I think the indigo blue went away to make room for the new colors. The NF green sage is also being dropped when the new yellow goes into production.

The indiglo blue was my second choice behind the summit white....but I was afraid that every nick and scratch would stand out so I ruled it out....it's a very attractive color, and one that looks good on about anything.... :B:

Saw my first Arrival Blue on a Silverado PU today. Pulled my Indigo Blue Av (properly Zainoed, of course) beside it and was surprised how little difference there was.

Arrival Blue was just a couple of shades brighter. But the Zaino effect was definitley there on my Av..

They actually been using Indigo Blue on '99-'02 Tahoes and Suburbans for a few years now, haven't they? So though it was only here on the Av for one season, it doesn't surprise me that it's gone. Now if they keep making Tahoes/Suburbans in Indigo Blue, then I'm confused.

But I agree, the Arrival Blue looks pretty classy too. You can never really go wrong with Blue, White, or Black.

:) In my opinion, the persons with the Indigo Blue AV's now have a collectors item in the AV. We have the first and only Indigo Blue AV's on the road, we are the few, the proud, the indigo blues!

I haven't seen an Arrival Blue yet, but I'm glad I have Indigo Blue. It really looks good with the lighter grey cladding we have. I do have a press pic, for lack of a better term. of an Arrival Blue with the new darker cladding and I really, really like it allot! But if I'm stuck (which I am) with the '02, I'm glad I have the Indigo blue! :B:
love my Ambalanche!!! :B:

Take heart, Indiglo Blue lovers. That paint is a butt match color meaning a paint shop will always be able to match the color well if ever needed.

There was never any question for us. We had a 95 Indigo Blue Suburban. When I traded it for a 2000 Suburban, they didn't offer it in the LT Package, so we went with Pewter, and my wife never forgave me. So, when AV time came, my wife wouldn't even look at anything else. I tried to get her to hold out for a 2003, but she wouldn't. Probably a good thing we didn't wait, cause I would've never lived it down. It does show dirt worse than the Pewter, but it sure cleans up nice! Glad we got one.

Against all the popular opinion, I say forget the blue... go the black. Aside from hard to keep clean, marks easy, gets hotter, attracts bugs and shows every bit of dirt; it looks great (when clean) and it's proven that black cars go faster!
