Although they cost a bit more, I think they are well worth it. 
I paid $499 with mounting kit locally. Could have saved about $25 if I'd ordered them.
I didn't figure I'd really even use them, but they sure sport the footprints!
They have a great look and feel to them and provide a nice wide surface for the foot to rest. They are mounted with good heavy hardware that doesn't flex at all. VERY STABLE!
Took Avalance and I about 30 minutes to unpack and install these bars. Perfect fit!
