How hard would it be to install your own lift kit. I am a better than average mechanic and I would be able to have help lifting the pieces, I know they are heavy. I was wondering what special tools would be needed. I know that I do not have anything. I would prefer to do it myself, but I am not opposed to taking it somewhere. I just like the challenge and the satisfaction.

I have never lifted an Av. But i have done 2 OBS style 4x4 chevys. Both were SWB ex cab Z-71's and the hardest part was the weight of the components. I also have all of the tools needed

Go get friendly with local mechanic so you can borrow his lift....
