i've got a cargo net on my midgate, but it's just using the sticky attachments for the holders (the net is generic, of Pep Boys origin). It also came with screws to hold the holders. If I drilled into the midgate to use the screws, what am I drilling into? I'm talking about the area below the locks, outside the window storage area.

thanks for the help

If you use the GM NET for the AV, you just clip into the tiedowns in the cargo area. There are 2 for/in the front and back of the bed.

No drilling necessary... (y) (y)

sorry, guys...you can't read my mind ;) i'm talking about the inside. i've got a cargo deck on the back seats (when they're down) and the net helps to keep stuff from sliding around. the problem is the sticky stuff doesn't hold too well, so they keep coming loose. i just wanted to make sure it wasn't bullet proof kevlar impregnated alien alloy. or worse, solid plastic impregnated with the magic that makes the truck run...i'd hate to let all that out! ;)

I know msdinsp split his midgate at one point. Grabbed one of the pics from that post showing the guts of the midgate. Looks to be aluminum but like I said before, not 100% sure.

midgate is almost all plastic, with just a touch of aluminum to reinforce where the bolts go into it for the hinges
