on my 07 LT my message center and slector display was went dim/out i cant hardley see it and when i hit above it on the dash it pops back on then soon go back out.

Sounds like a bad solder joint.

Did you ever get a solution to this problem?  My truck has started doing the same thing.  It is intermittent now, goes on and off.  I checked the info 15A fuse, good.  It seems like the info center is loosing input power.  Is there any common place for a wire break in this circuit?

yea at the four corners of the pc board on the pc board, in other words, the readout portion is a pc board in itself soldered to the biger pc board which is the rest of your cluster.  Re solder your four corners and you got a 90% chance of being good to go.

My odometer and trans selector light was getting dim and finally went out.  I found a tech on E-bay selling his services to re-lamp and do the gauge calibration with new stepper motors for around $179.00.  Unit works great and he guarantees it for life.  Or I just saw on Summitt racing has a rebuilt cluster they will sell you for $160.00.  You do have to send them your old unit.  I choose to keep mine because I wanted mine back.  Hope this helps.

I got into the instrument panel today. I'm not really sure what to look for as a problem area, but am a little concerned about the burnt looking areas at the lower right of both displays, which may be originally manufactured that way. I checked the entire board and wiring connector for any sign of a loose connection. The only thing that appeared to be loose was a resistor, at Q16, that is in between the displays. I added some solder to it to firm up the connection, but it did not fix the problem. With a slight tap on the lower dash panel the display lit up again for another five minutes and then went out. I got a quote from the local Chevy dealer at $350 for a reman instrument panel. I think I'm going to take the lower dash apart to see if there are any loose wires.

Just got my instrument panel rebuilt by bba reman http://www.bba-reman.com/us/  One week turn turn around, lifetime warranty, $90.

I have same problem on my 07 Avalanche Lt both the display screens quit displaying. Speedometer & everything else still works fine.
I'm guessing something inside went out? I hoped was fuse or loose wire
