Can you order an av the way you want at invoice?Tell me if I'm close on this estimate.
base av 34,705
1,045 z71 package
35,745 sticker
31,395 invoice
4,000 rebate
27,395
815 destination
1692 tax pa.
29,902 total out the door
this is what I'm coming up with if I go to dealer,is this possible?

If your dealer will let you, I don't see why not...it's his profit margin. Price looks pretty close to me, 'cept for tag/title, and dealer fee (unless you have an extraordinary dealer that will waive it). I didn't order one b/c I didn't want to miss 0%, so mine is like that + tow package and roof rack. No 4K rebate w/ 0%, though.

If you're ordering, a 4.10 rear axle is no cost if you are interested in one.

thanks I know I'm missing tags but thats minor just transfering. How much is dealer fee?I will get 4.10 rear.If you order vehicle before June 2 you still get 4,000 rebate right?

You get whatever incentives are in effect when you take delivery, not when you order it.

Well that just ruined my day. Don't you have to put money down at the time of ordering.I should be able to get the rebate at the present time when making the deal. Are you 100 % sure.

n8wrl is correct!

I am in the same situation you are in regarding the purchase of my AV. I have accepted the fact that I will have to wait until June 2nd to order my vehicle, depending on the incentives available next month.

I wish there was an AV in south Louisiana that comes close to having the options I want. I was even willing to forgo the 4.10 rear axle I wanted because the dealership closest to me is offering a $4000 rebate.

Oh well, I have to wait until next month to order and another 4-6 weeks to take delivery. I'll make sure I aggravate my wife enough to get kicked out of the bedroom, that way, I can sleep in the AV the first night I get it. ;D ;D ;D

My shopping experience revealed that '03's with a variety of options are available in stock. Except for the 4.10 rear end, which option(s) are causing you guys to want to order?

Dealer fees that I saw ranged from $250 (reasonable) to over $500 (not). My opinion only on what's reasonable :)

All I want is a Black Z-66, with charcoal cloth bucket seats, towing package, convenience package, and the 4.10 rear end.

If there was one on the lot with the 3.73 rear end I might take it, depending on what extra incentives I would get.

I have read more messages from people that wish they had gotten the 4.10 instead of the 3.73, than wishing they got the 3.73 instead of the 4.10.

Therefore, I would rather get exactly what I want, than wonder what might have been.

If you will be towing anything reaching the tow limits of the truck go 4.10 if you are not towing or only towing light stuff like pop-up campers or wave runners, the 3.73 is fine and you will do a little better on gas millege with the 3.73.

I think you can upgrade to the 4.10 down the road, of course it will cost you $$

I am looking at buying a boat after I get the truck, don't know what boat but it will be in excess of 23'.

I know I can upgrade the rear end, but I'm not willing to pay over $2k in the future for what I can get for $0 by ordering today.

How much should invoice really be.I'm figuring it should be 4,500 off msrp sticker. Is this correct? This is where I'm at 36,563 msrp I figure 32,063 INVOICE.

Edmunds.com has all the information you need regarding MSRP, invoice and fair market value

The only thing not on Edmunds.com invoice price is the "advertising fee" that GM charges the dealer. This varies from area to area, you will have to get that figure from the selling dealer. Other than that I found Edmunds figures to exactly match the invoice that the dealer showed me.

I just looked at all the Chevy Dealers in Austin on GMBuypower. Would you believe every Black or Dark Gray Z66 with cloth is a WBH! Found two Blacks and one Dark Gray Z66's. All WBH's with no moldings. All with Charcoal buckets, HD Trailering Equip. ALL WITH 3.73's. :6:

The invoice costs at Edmunds are close to actual invoice AFAIK. I got printouts from a local dealer when looking for my Av the supposedly showed actual invoice. The one I actually bought was MSRP $36,950, incoice was $32,954...not quite the $4,500 that you (and Edmunds) suggest, but I believe that actual invoice that Dealers pay varies by region and other factors. This may be part of the package of dirtly little secrets of the auto world that I really don't want to know about :-X

Come to think of it, Edmunds adds destination at the bottom, while the invoice that I was referring to already had it included, so that is likely the difference, and thus actual invoice should be even lower than estimated.

I paid no advertising, at least it wasn't added as a line item after invoice...may have been included, don't know.

On options, invoice is 86% of the MSRP. Edmunds has usually been pretty close on the invoice price of the base vehicle. That also varies somewhat based on the series you select, obviously. 2WD/4WD etc.

When I bought mine I think the only difference between Edmunds and the actual was the advertising fee. Edmunds doesn't have it included.

Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) also is a great source for MSRP and Invoice prices. Their print-out matched the one I got from the dealer to the penny. I haven't tried edmunds yet.

I don't think the 1500 Avalanche should be used to tow a boat over 23'. I just bought a new boat (Sea Ray 240 sun deck) & was going to tow it.

Ran the numbers as:
Boat 6,800#
Trailer 2,000#
Fuel 400#
Water 100#
Gear 200#
then you have to figure people & gear in truck: aprox 800# w/ 4 people

Total: over 10,000 lbs

Max Trailer weight for 4x4 with 4.10 is only 7,900 lbs.

If you have not already, you need to visit the message boards at trailerboats.com http://boards.trailerboats.com/cgi-bin/trailerboats/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

For that size boat you need to look at a Avalanche 2500 or Silverado 2500 w/a 4.10

You really need to research this before you buy your truck/boat. I did and decided that the 24' boat was just going to be too much of a pain to trailer - so now i keep it in a boatel at a marina.

Hope this info helps, I hate to see people do the wrong thing that could jepordize their property/saftey

Better deals have been made, but it's not a bad deal. The Ad fee is not usually as negotiable as MSRP, and Dealers are usually anywhere from Invoice to $500 over. On rare ocassions under. All depends on how bad you want it. I paid more than that for my '99 and '01 Sierras. Got lucky with the Av. (and more informed)

The salesman I worked with told me before I even ordered it (I was just looking at the time), that he would knock 3K off the sticker price to begin with. ;D On top of that, I got the 4K rebate. My Z66 stickered at 35,800....so take 7K off of that....

You may want to take a look at carsdirect.com. I quoted out a fairly loaded Z71 for just over $31,000. I then walked into a dealership say this is what I want, and I want to pay less than the $31,000. They came back at me at $29,000 and change. I should be picking it up tomorrow morning.

I had the whole attitude of if you don't want my money, then someone else will be more than happy to take it.

Also a litle known fact about dealerships is, if they write up the loan, the get paid from it. Even with the 0% financing out there, GM pays the dealership, if I remember right, 1 or 2 points.

With the way the economy is right now, Dealerships are more than happy to play the game by you rules, as long as, you are fair with them.

That's my 1/2-cent worth. Good luck on getting your Av's guys. I'm hoping you get what you want for the price you want.
