Is GM bringing the Avalanche back?

Avalanche is gone. It won't be coming back. Move on..... I'll just keep mine and keep modding till it fails - love it, but stop dreaming. After death,  going to Raptor.

talked to a Chevy rep at a show an they said the Avalanche could be back on a smaller platform, think Colorado or Equinox

That'll essentially doom it from the start.  A huge appeal is being able to convert from a short bed crew cab to a long bed 2/3 seater.  If the Avy was on a smaller platform I would have opted for a full size crew cab and then thrown the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra in as options in addition the GM offerings (not much of a Ford or Dodge guy though the Raptor is nice.)

I refuse to move on.. We have a '13 and I keep searching for a good 02-06 to buy and drive as well.. They'll always hold a special place in my heart, as will the club!!

Your exactly right Frito... They're gonna shoot themselves in the foot, if they think sales were bad when they stopped making in 2013, wait until they make a dinky useless version that will probably cost 60 grand...

A Colorado it's worst than I thought, that would mean it may be back in name only.

I did see a concept Colorado with solid sail panels

Yup. Supercharger you are correct. Not to mention the rather well known increase of mechanical issues starting with the post-06 models. That alone drove me to search for an 02 when I was in the market for buying a second one instead of a getting a newer one. These things got soccer mom'd more and more as the years went by.

Oh oh, here comes the the flood of argumentative responses . . . . won't change my mind

So . . . how is your search going so far?

While I would admit that many get soccer momd, I dont hahaha

I disagree.  If they made an Avalanche-style Colorado with a V8 option I think it would sell great.  Not everybody wants/needs the space/size of a fullsize truck all the time, and I know for me it would make a lot more sense to have the smaller footprint but to still have the extra/quirky utility the Avy offered.

If they made a Raptor-style Colorado with the Avalanche's midgate/sail panels/etc. and the V8, I'd be the first to put a deposit down.

like this one  just needs different headlights... these look like an 08 pontiac

If they build one on the Colorado/Canyon chassis I won't buy one. I couldn't close the door on the current ones much less this tiny thing. That's why I'm looking for a low mileage '02-'06.

Me too, good luck to you! Everything I find is either eat up with rust or loaded with miles
