Is it just me, but I close the sunroff and it goes a little too far and is in the vent setting, or not enough and it is not quite closed.

Is there a positive close, or is it just me doing something wrong. And, could this be why some get leaks at a high pressure auto car wash?

Just hold the button until it closes - it will be offset a little higher toward the rear of the vehicle - that's normal. If you hold the button it will stop when it's closed, going in either direction.

Take a look from outside. When it is closed properly, the glass should be flush with the roof surface.

Every time I close the sunroof, my son looks at it and says I went too far. But it's closed properly.

From inside, hold the button in while you are watching the glass slide forward. Hold the button continuously until it stops by itself. If you watch the glass during the last seconds, it will seem like it goes up too far. When it is done it looks like the back is too high. But if you now look outside, you will see that it is flush and in the correct position.

Here's a quick test you can do:

Open your roof, then close it by holding the switch until it stops by itself. Check outside for a flush fit of the glass with the roof. Now open the roof the other way, and close it by again holding the switch until it stops by itself again. Once again, check for a flush fit.

If your glass panel is not flush with the roof when it is closed in either direction, take it to the dealer. There is an adjustment that can be made, but from my reading of the shop manual that adjustment is not clear. At least not clear enough for me to relate it to you.

I would like to say I know what you mean - I have noticed mine does not just stop by itself when closing it will go closed and then start to pop up in the rear to open like a vent. I have had to play with it a couple times as sometimes water comes in during washing. If the are supposed to stop when closing and holding the button - mine is BROKE :cautious: :6: Or maybe I am not doin it right and stoppin too soon. :2:

From the Online Owners Manual, this may help;

If the battery has been recharged, disconnected or is
not working, you may need to reprogram the sunroof. To
do this, start the vehicle and press the forward side of
the sunroof button until the glass panel moves to a fully
closed position. Release, and press again to move to
the vent position which occurs when the sunroof is fully
tilted rearward. This will reset the memory and enable
the sunroof to function properly.

The service manual also adds the statement that until this is done, it will not allow you to retract the roof. Open it all the way in the raised vent position (switch forward) and close it to reprogram.

If it is still not lined up, there are the adjustment screws that I alluded to in my previous post on this subject.
