Good Day Everyone!
I've got a*2002 Avalanche,"North Face Edition" that I purchased a few months ago,it was in rough shape, but I've been working on it little by little to get everything repaired&maintained,a couple ongoing issues I'm having, are with the battery draining quickly,if it isn't driven or started daily,as well as the headlights not coming on(low or high),the parking lights work fine, but the headlights do not.I replaced the battery with a new one, purchased&installed a new headlight switch, which seemed to get the issue resolved, but only for a short time.
Has anyone had this issue,if so does anyone have any suggestions for how to get the issue resolved?
Thank you very much in advance for any assistance! 😊

First welcome to the website!
You might want to check the info on your AV since there was NOT a 2001 AV, it possibly could be a 2002 built in late 2001 though since 2002 was the first official year of the AV.
First thing to check is to look for any aftermarket electronics added to your AV such as a remote start, alarm system or stereo etc. They have been known to cause problems.
Only way to cure electrical drain problems is to have a trained person use a meter and check each circuit individually for the drain. You could possibly limit the search one at a time by removing one fuse at a time and see if the drain stops.
good luck with your search for the problem.

Have you checked wire harness from lights to wherever they go?
Relay? fuse? stalk hi/lo switch....
AMbient light sensor?

For battery drain
First remove anything electrical not stock.
Then hook up amp meter and start pulling fuses until you find circuits with big amp draws... then go thru those particular circuits and check components.

Good Luck and welcome

I will get the wiring diagram&follow it from the harness on....
I've checked fuses, but will have to double check the relays&check the AMB light sensor,as well.
The headlights are the exact OEM replacements for the vehicle, nothing modified or upgraded.
I'm hoping it's a simple solution, such as possible corrosion in the switch connection area, since that was an issue previously for the electric mirrors.Once the corrosion was removed,it was reinstalled&has worked great since! 🤞

I've had a mechanic attempt to resolve the battery issue, removing fuses individually&checking the amps with the proper tools-equipment,but unfortunately there wasn't any one in particular using excessive amp draws.
It's possible that the battery replacement is a bad battery,I've had that issue with a local retailer, and their batteries in particular,so it's worth a shot.🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the Welcome! It's great to be on a knowledge forum, for questions regarding my specific vehicle!
I corrected&updated the vehicle information, regarding my specific vehicle,it is a 2002 Chevy Avalanche, North Face Edition, grey exterior with black leather interior. I've had to have assistance with some of the repairs-maintenence,due to lack of space, tools, etc.,but am attempting to do as many as possible myself,so this forum is a Great, Helpful Site!I appreciate the assistance provided thus far & am looking forward to continuing to work on my vehicle!
Thanks Again! 😊

If your up to it, this is the best way to find your battery drain.:giggle:
