Has anyone installed a jake brake on their Av yet? Details?
As it turns out the 2500 is outrageously freewheeling and benefits from the use of the engine for braking - that is why many of us drop it into 3rd in touch and go city driving, more responsive and easier on the brakes. My Jeep GC has a button to disable OD - smart folks.02-Z66 said:i do not see the need for one on anything less than a Kenworth, Peterbuilt, International, and so on...

This should provide a significant increase in gas mileage.
The other variation that has been experimented with is using generator/motor combos to charge during the deceleration phase [braking] and then assist in acceleration from a stop.
