As many know, Joe Gibbs Performance is introducing a Silverado later this year and then a Tahoe. (more info at joegibbsperformance.com) They're also introducing a parts program with the same products. Guess what vehicle was spotted wearing the parts at the JGP shop today? It's a Joe Gibbs Performance Avalanche! Front fascia with badge, black grill, 20" custom wheels, door badges... Whatcha' think of this?

Well, I like everything I see except the rims. I think they could have done better there.

They should add a Street Scene Sport Grille.

Did they have anything changed in the interior? Add ons?

Gibbs-designed Eaton Generation V ?Roots? type supercharger/intercooler system conservatively rated at 395 horsepower and 425 foot pounds of torque**

**5.3 V8

I pulled this from the site.... Aren't our 5.3L V8 engines rated at 395HP with 425 lb of torque?

If so what's the supercharger doing?

No, the 5.3 is 285 hp.
With SC, tuner, headers, air intake and exhaust I've only pushed to about 425. and rear wheel is less than that.

As far as the pictures, It's nice enough, but I think a lot of the 'locals' here on the board have done a nicer job and have sharper looking trucks.

Thanks Sparky. After I submited this I started thinking about it.... :E: What can I say... I'm still learning >:D

hmmmm, a "JGP" badge. cool. As in John G. Parker!! Gotta get one.
What it really needs is a "Scowl" Bowtie. :)

First, I need to clear something up. I am involved with the JGP program as a part of the identity and marketing team. I have not contributed to the automotive styling of the vehicle beyond the interaction of the logo. These are great folks to work with and I believe their product will stand out in the crowd.

I am also a very happy Avalanche owner and a member of this club with gratitude to the valuable input and expertise gathered herein. To that end, I believe I may have crossed the line regarding commercial ventures. For that, I offer my apologies. My intent was to gather a reaction from a group whose opinion has proven to be fair and honest. For those who offered a reply, thank you. For those I offended or raised question, please forgive my oversight.

An answer to chad2fw: the interior products are front bucket seats with embroidered logos and a different seat back styling, a gauge cluster and logo'd floormats. A custom shifter will be available as well.

thanks for your time,

Will the parts be available only for the WBH (as shown) or will they be available for the cladded versions as well?
How can one order or see a catalog of parts available?

TIA

Now thats what WBH's need, a great looking bumper :0:

I have to agree, tht's the best bumper option I've seen thus far.

Murdog, if it becomes available separately, let me know! (I'm curious if it's just a cover or a complete replacement, from the size, I'm assuming cover)

TNAV03: scheduled debut of the vehicle program is in October, parts program will be closely tied in. Parts will be available through participating dealers and online. I believe the fascia will fit the cladded version, although the WBH test vehicle was chosen for the smoother lines to show the JGP product. I know work is progressing on all fronts at a fever pitch. Keep watch on their website for updates.

Yakmar: Sparky has put together one beautiful machine! For some, maybe these parts are like a starter kit...

It's a complete replacement and will be available by itself. Towhooks won't have a home, however.

Thanks Murdog, I am very interested in this JGP project, and I look forward to being able to buy some of the enhancements that they will be offering for the AV ;D

I like it.
It's showcases a true sport-truck performance look without looking too overdone.
I would like the front bumper and the SC for my AV.
What type of exhaust system will it sport?

Tow hooks just add weight anyway ;)

The only towing mine does is a flat car trailer.

Thanks Murdog for sharing with us that's a good looking truck.

Sorry if some folks gave you a hard time.

Joe

The whole program is headed for release in October. That should include vehicle and the parts program. Their website will be sure to have updates as they get things ready for that date.

Murdog,
Get those new shoes on yet?

Any progress on my concept project?
I am anxious to move forward with it.
I would like to have something to show in Savanag in Oct.
