Hi all and thanks for the info, it has been veryhelpful in my purchasing of a new Av.

I should be receiving it by the end of the week:
Z66, Light pewter with charcoal leather (AN3 option), all options included except for, 4.10 diff, DVD or sunroof.

Which mods should I do first?

Most certainly the amber DRLs. Then we know it's you when we see truckin down the highway!

02 or 03?

Jamie

Congrats on your purchase. You will enjoy.

I actually just went to test drive one at lunch one day for the fun of it, no intention of buying one.

Bought it the next day. No regrets yet. I get to scare the family by taking the back way to my sisters... over the hills and through the creek!!..

Congrats and welcome!!!!!

As Jamie mentioned do the amber DRLs, they are easy to install and easy on the pocket book.

Congrats and I've learned over the past couple of weeks that the Amber DRL designate our AV as being a member of the Club. Good luck with your new AV and have fun...

YUP, I just learned that last week also, apparently, the amber DRL's signify a CAFCNA member, and I should change mine, The only problem I have is, my 4YR old son likes the stock ones and doesn't want me to change them.

BTW, congrats on your purchase, and welcome :)

It's funny, I like the stock ones better too until I saw one with the amber ones in person. Thats when I decided to change mine.

When I first got my Av my son (3) used to say he liked my other truck better, but now he likes my Av better (y) He likes when we get in the bed under the covers and see the things glowing.

Welcome and agree with all -- amber DRLs first -- a CAFCNA trade mark. After that I would suggest anything that may be needed to take away any "irritants", i.e. backup alert if you are having a hard time with backup visibility; blind spot mirrors if that's what's needed, etc.

This site is the place to determibne what mods are best.

Guys thanks much for the welcoming. I will receive it by the end of the week but I'm stopping by Pep Boys tonight to pick my Sylvania 4157 NAK or NALL to get the amber DRL's.

Got a great deal (I think) as I'm paying $500 over invoice and getting 0% for 36 months. High payment but good savings in interests.

Now about that back up alert............................

I just started the mod process over the weekend and will continue throughout the week. Limited budget so I'm going for relatively inexpensive mods first. Amber DRL's, magnaflow exhaust (on order), billet grille (on order), ventshade bug deflector and tail light covers, and zaino (picking up from Dave tomorrow, NY distributor).

I'm still trying to decide on a brush guard or bull bar.

I never would have done any of this stuff without this site, and thanks to all who post; you've helped a lot...yeah, helped break my bank ;)

Sooner or later your gonna start looking at your AV as a truck and not a SUV. When that happens you will probably start looking for a new Exhaust, a beefier sounding exhaust.

But as I have stated before, your best bet is to purchase the MOD BUG REPELANT. When you find it let me know. I need to use some. The MOD BUG is a nasty mean critter. Bites repeditively too!!

Congratulations and have fun. ;D

o% for 36 months is a great deal on a 2003

Good luck with the truck

I didn't know the what the amber DRL's meant either....and I've been here awhile! I like the stock ones, but I guess I'll have to change them out...good cheap project for this weekend.

And congrats on the new TRUCK.

Chuck.

Welcome to the club and great color choice (IMHO). Start off easy and cheap on the mods but pick the ones that make it yours! :B:

Welcome to the Club!

I personally think the first mod you do should be the Audio system. ;D Let's get you a cool CD/MP3/XM headunit, change the speakers out for some components, get you a couple of amplifiers and a sub and let's start rocking! >:D

Welcome and enjoy your AV!

I'm with c-rod. Rip out everything associated with the stock stereo and replace it all. Don't forget the mp3, xm, and the subwoofer.

I agree with the stereo mods. Definitely the largest place for improvement there. I love having mp3 capability - no more messing around with cd visors or binders, just 1 cd ;D
Throw in some components or coaxes, an amp or two, and some bass, and you're ready to rock >:D
Come over to the Audio / Video forum if you are ready to enter the sacred circle >:D

Hi guys!!

I'am Rob from the netherlands, Europe
Yesterday i'am ordered my first pickup, a onyx black avalanche. They are hard to get here in europe, the official chevy dealers here don't sell the avalanche.
But lucky me, there are some little car-traders that do the job. I' get mine in januari 2003. I' am going for all the options, 4x4, 5.3, z71, and much more.
I can't wait for it.
I read since two months all the articles in this group,
i loved it. See you. Rob :D :D :

What COLOR Is Amber?
Try this: Go out to your truck. Turn on your parking lights. Walk to the front of your truck. Look at your parking lights. -- That's amber. ;D

Now picture your DRLs with that same clear/amber effect.

Now, go out, get the bulbs, and put them in! It's worth it.

The amber drl's are a great idea, and it lets the other club members know you are one of us.....however long it takes for you to run into another Av...but at least you'll be prepared.... :B:
