I was wondering if anyone has installed this on their 03 or 04 Avalanche. My installer wants 370 for the install. Is this about par for this install? He told me to have the auto start work correctly with the newer model vehicles he has to order extra parts. Thought i would check with you guys to see what you thought.

TIA

That's the alarm PLUS the installation, right? If so, it's a fair price. Let us know how the stock electrical features hold up after the install.

My dealer wants $1200 for the alarm with install for a Python 1600 which includes remote start and paging system.

The high labor cost includes hiding the brain and blending the wires to look like OEM. The install takes a full day or longer depending on the vehicle.

I hate spending the money, but I want it done correctly.

Make sure your dealer has a good warranty and isn't a fly-by-night operator.

We just had a remote start alarm put in my wifes 2004 Trailblazer. I don't recall the exact model number but it seems to be working without any problems. The cost of the alarm and install was $420. I asked about having the same system put in my 04 Avalanche and he said it would be the same price. This model does not have the remote pager. The module that needs to be added has something to do with bypassing the factory key system. If I wanted to upgrade to a remote pager, the salesman said it would be an extra $52 for the module that communicates with the pager, and it's about a $75 upgrade to have the LCD remote.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting a bad deal. I will keep you posted on how the install goes he told me he has to have my truck for maybe two days.

Thanks

Two days to install an AutoPage 850. I don't think so! My electronics guys can do them in 4-5 hours, depending on the type of car/truck. Sounds like he may not be experienced in installing the 2-way paging alarm, so ask him if he's done one before and look elsewhere jsut in case.

I had the Matrix RS 3.52 installed on AV for an even $500 (unit, install, extra necessary mods, etc). I had done a lot of research, and the Matrix RS 3.52 graded out extremely well for a system that uses a LCD fob.

The newer chevys are more complicated. But by no means should it take days. Also, by no means should you spend 1200 dollars. I have plenty of experience with DEI 2-way systems and they can be tricky, and more parts are needed for newer cars, but I would say average is about 6-7 hours for around 600 dollars.
