Tire Signals Show You The PSI Of Your Tires i just saw this in a magazine and thought you guys might be interested in it. ?You attach them to your valve stem and they always read your PSI (only problem is they can steal them of course)

Interesting. I like the concept but once you put them on would you forget them? If you are looking at the air in your tires wouldn't you just use a guage?

I guess these would be helpful if your run the factory setup for the Z71. I have heard from several people that they expereince a super slow leak and must air up every month to 6 weeks. More of a topping off than a refill.

i think i saw these on one of the auto shows on the speed chanel. anyways to get to my point, if they are the same ones, then they were rated porly because they tended to be off on the pressure reading. and like another member said, they tend to leak a bit. just my .02c.

Hey, you all will like this:
Soon, all vehicles with come with MIL's that indicate when your tire pressure is low. It just takes all independant thought by the owner out of the process! All due to the fact that sooooo many people either don't know how to check the pressure in their tires or who don't care to do do. Isn't it good to know that the government can do the thinking for us?

No, I'm not implying that you all are part of the idiotic masses.

I acutally have just gotten them! First thing, no pressure loss, have had them on for about a month and they seem to be just find! I thought the same thing that they would not be accurate, so I droped the pressure 2 lbs and guess what they are yellow! I dropped it another 4 lbs and it was red! The third thing as for them being stolen, they use a little jam nut on the valve that puts back pressure on it do they can not be twirled off! So I would say that this is the way to go! Four glances and you know everything is good!

My 2 Cents

They seem like a an inexpensive and useful mod.

Does anyone know if the DIC in the Av has the ability to have a pressure monitoring system?

Reason I ask is, the C5 Corvettes offer a tire monitoring system for the Coupe and Convertible. However it is not available on the Z06. The coupe and convertible use extended mobility tires requiring the system. Even thought the Z06 does not have this feature, it is in the computer. With a Tech2, and the addition of the sensors in the tires, you can monitor the PIS through the DIC like the other models. In other words: The feature is available but not utilized.

So I wonder if the setting is buried in the Avs mind as well...

If anyone has a Tech2 and is interested in seeing if it exists, I will get the steps to locate it in the computer.

Yes, the 03s have the ability to monitor the tire pressure as the cluster uses the RF remote antenna to pickup the signals from the tire pressure monitors. All you have to do is use the tech2 to turn on the functionality and add the tire pressure sensors to the wheels. I plan on doing this, I need to get the part numbers for the tire pressure monitors off of the 03 Caddy EXT and I'm set. Anyone else interested?

Yeah! If I can buy a few parts and add remote tire pressure sensing ability to my '03 I'm VERY interested.

I am. This sounds interesting. ?What is involved in installing the tire sensors? ???
The sensors I have seen before use a band to mount around the centre of the wheel, so you would have to:
- remove the tire
- mount the sensor onto the wheel
- remount the tire
- rebalance the tire

If you Ever get Sensors~~~Always tell the guys when they change tires!

They will not be responsible if you forget to inform them.

Shameless posting . . . me never.

I am BACK! That was funny.

Serious, Are these for the 1500 only? My 2500 has way different pressure.
