Just was wondering what interior product any use on their AV to keep the factory fresh smell on the inside. There is no smoking allowed in my AV but that wonderful factory fresh smell seems to be disappearing anyway. I have been told there are products but only the dealers know about them. Any suggestions folks? ???

How about the little tree air freshener labels "new car scent" :p
No really what i used was an in car air ionizer. Sharper image has one that works great and keeps the car smelling like new, you can buy one at circuit city.

One word Beno before every meal. Sorry I can't help myself. I have a bottle of freebrezze that works real well.

I've been told that my AV still has the new car smell, and I will have had it a year next month.

Only thing I do is keep any strong perfumes and colognes OUT of my AV....I tend to wear scented lotions that aren't as potent as perfumes.

I was also told my Cavalier still smelled new after 3 years of driving it.

Just keep different smells to a minimum...

I think mine still smells OK after 5 months, doing nothing but keeping it clean...no McDonalds bags in the floorboard, etc.

Now the bed, on the other hand, smells horrible...a blend of hockey equipment and mulch. Blech! Time to take the mat out and hose it off.

From what I have read the "new car smell" is actually the smell of chemicals being released from the plastics in the car. This chemical that you are smelling is actually a highly toxic one, when in a concentrated form, but not harmful in the relatively slight vapor form noticed as the "new car smell". ;D

I'm glad my "new car smell" is pretty much gone. Mostly it was the smell of rubber from the bed mat. :cautious:

People tell me my AVy smells new,,,,,,after 2 years

Try ZAINO LEATHER IN a BOTTLE on everything plastic, vinyl , and leather.

MMMMMMMM? Will have to look up Zanio I guess. Seems they have some fine products from what I have seen at this site. Now the Beano before every meal was funny!!!

I was just curious because I heard there was some stuff with florocarbons in that dealers used to prep out the cars before they hand them over and was wondering if anyone knew what it was and how to get ahold of it. But the Zanio Rubber in a Bottle sounds safer. :D

I use the Zaino Leather in a Bottle all the time. This is the closest thing to a new car I have found. Everyone that gets in the truck comments on the leather smell.

Remember the new car smell is from the vinyl gasses releasing in all the vinyls and also plastic gases fro the plastics.....so the new car smell is actually a car fart kinda....but only happens as new and diminishes as it gets older.....

I try to keep the inside or my AV clean all the time but the new smell will eventually go away.
