Looking around the CarDomain and I noticed this:

Pretty cool.

OK... Now that's cool. I'm going to email my cousin over there in the Marines and have him take digital shots of any that he sees in Iraq, and email them to me.
If he does, I'll post.
Good find! (y)

I wonder if gas is cheaper there :cautious:

The news said gas is only 5 Cents a gallon over there man and I thought I was happy when I found a place for $2.17

When I was over there in 1990 for desert storm, GAS which over there is good ole leaded fuel was about 17-20 cents a gallon.

I was in Kuwait last year, Jan-Mar '03. The conversion rate then of US $ to Kuwait Dinar was $3.10 US to $1 Kuwait Dinar. We were told to top off the tank before leaving any Government installation. I don't remember the exact cost per gallon, but remember that we were told not to buy on the economy due to the high cost in US Dollars. Also they made sure to tell us that we would NOT be reimbursed for the purchase of fuel outside of the installation. (I went to a Chili?s over there. I paid $21 US for a $7.00 meal here. Just could not eat another mess hall meal, that week.)

Another key factor to remember also why there may be so many AV popping up over there: A Kuwait Male, after the age of 18, is given in the neighborhood of $200,000 Kuwait Dinars a year by the Government of Kuwait. (Remember that is 3:1 ratio US Dollars to Kuwait.) The only stipulation is that they maintain a residence in Kuwait and marry true Kuwait woman. They can use the money however they want.

While I was there it was common place to find vehicles just abandon where ever they broke down, had an accident, or just got tired of the car. They just walk away from them. There is a small industry of Tow Trucks that just roam around picking these vehicles up. I don't know what they did with them, but they cart them away. Never saw a junk yard.

Just my 2 cents worth of posting. Have to post to catch up to the big # post'r guys.

$600 grand a year just for being a citizen and marring in country. I guess no one has to work in that country.

$3.10 to 1 conversion is $64,516.13

In Alaska we have the Permanent fund, oil profits go into this account. It's modeled after the Kuwait setup. Paid yearly in October , For every Man woman and child. The most in one year I got was around $1,800 and all we have to do is intend to live in Alaska for a long time. and be out of the state no longer than 60-90 days. 2 years residency is required. You don't have to marry an Alaska chick!

I think the math is off.

$200,000 Diner
* $3.10
-------------------
$620,000

Though, mine could be wrong as well.
