What would be the largest / tallest (best setup) tire size for the stock 17" Z71 wheels that would clear without rubbing/hitting fender/wheelwell?

Also thinking about new wheels as well. If I were to go with a 19-20" wheel
would that severely limit my tire height? I want an aggressive off road look.
Not happy with the look of my stock size tires. I lifted the front about 2.5".

I like the low profile tires look for dropped AV's but not stock or slightly lifted.

I put 20" rims on my wifes 02 Escalade and I never really liked how thin the tires looked after. Almost like a piece of cheeze. Should have gone smaller wheel/taller tire as well. :E:

If it were me and you wanted to have a more aggresive look I would drop the rim size down to 16" and go with tires 285/75/16 they are the largets tire that will fit the Avalanche you may have a little rubbing when fully cranked, I know cause I do!

or stay with stock 17's and run a 285/70-17 .... works out to .1" smaller OD then a 285/75-16 (although actual tire size varries by manufacturer)
