My 60AMP Lbec1 Fuse keeps blowing. Can't figure out where the short may be. Checked the wires near parking brake and removed the cover under the dash to check there as well.. Its also drains the battery slowly.

Need some help here to figure it out as I hate changing these 60amp fuses all the time. Sometimes they will last months and sometimes 1-2 in a day.

Aftermarket radio installed with backup cam wired into reverse brake harness.

Could it be my grounds?

Battery Cables?

I HAVE 2003 Avalanche with the same problem Been trying to find drain for weeks now .if annybody hase idea I try ant thing. Ihave pull every fuse braker and even the starter and alt.

Ok so it seems like I’m in the habit of fixing my own problems out of sheer stubbornness. Finally nailed it down to the hood opening and closing that was causing the LBEC1 fuse to blow. I think this was also affecting the MBEC fuses as well. Right behind the fuse box near the bottom are a bunch of wires coming out of the firewall into the fuse box. One of these was being hit and rubbed by the hood hinge! I watched it blow the fuse as I closed it in low light. Every time I opened the hood... the low end of the hinge would rub the wire harness! Some electrical tape... wire harness moved... no more rubbing and the problem was solved. I could not find this solution anywhere on the internet. One more place to look and check for weird electrical problems (parking brake side as well). Hopefully less hair pulling for someone. Check this area as well.
