LED Reverse Bulbs /// Weatherstripping Issue

Just picked up my first Avalanche.
2011 LTZ, 147k mi.
Very pleased so far, but I’ve got 2 questions.

1:
Need to replace my reverse light bulb.
Sylvania 7440.
I want to upgrade to LED’s.
Will I need to use a load equalizer?

2:
Has anyone had trouble getting the weatherstripping to stay in place on the side toolbox lids?
How did you fix the issue?

I just installed some lasfit leds just plug them in nothing else needed and they are super bright.

I used black RTV Silicone to keep my weather stripping in place. Pulled the stripping, cleaned the channel, fill with silicone and pushed the stripping back in and closed the lid. Let it cure for a 24 hours and haven't had a problem since. Did the same thing with the weather stripping around the rear window cause it was sagging.
