Swap the original lights for the trip, it's a pretty common problem with LEDS

Nice lights By the Way.
I got mine and had them tinted.

By the way my load resistors are on the brake bulb socket on both sides  in the rear and also on the LED bulbs up front (4 load resistors total). I've had no problems with hyper flash or the cruise control since.

Hi
Can you please let me know which color wires I need to connect the load resistor....right now it is connected to black and blue wires (ground and live wire)
Some guy who bought them from amazon is saying that I will need to install 4 resistors in the back...2 on each side.
Thanks

Which bulb did you put the load resistors on?

They are on the brake bulb....my 3rd brake light and LOF works when I hit brake...but not the brake lights....just noticed today...that's why my cc doesn't work...

Put the regular bulb back in the brake socket and test to see if they light up. If it does not take off the resistors and try again. if still no go check the fuse panels as you may just have a blown fuse. If memory serves be right it is indeed the black and the blue wire. I think it only needs to be done on one side tail light but I don't remember which so to be on the safe side do both. Tomorrow after church or so I'll take mine apart and snap some pics.

I think I found the problem...the Veh Stop fuse 15A was blown...I installed another one and as soon as I hit brake that was blown as well. I am taking it to mechanic to check for short in the wires. This is the fuse on the driver side in the cabin
Do you think of any other reason? Brake switch on the pedal going bad?

Put the regular bulb back and have someone try stepping on the brakes and see the fuse blows again. If it only blows with the LEDs you have a problem.
If it blows with thew regular bulbs, take the load resistor off and try again.
The resistor may be connected incorrectly I'll can't take a pic right now as by the time I get off work MN is too cold for me to be outside and the sun is already going down. Saturday will be the earleist I can get out to it unless the weather gets warmer.

So I removed the resistors and installed regular bulb n it worked fine....then I installed the led tail lights without resistors and brake lights and turn n running lights worked fine as well....but not the remote starter n cruise.

So the resistor was main cause of blowing up the fuse....any idea why it could be doing that? Going to buy new resistors n see if they work.

Tuffy29 I misspoke. I pulled apart both of my taillights today.  I only have the load  resistor one one side. The passenger side tail light. I will upload and post the pic I took shortly.

Hi Dluvr22
I just came back from a wedding in states...so still have to work on these.
I cannot tell the color of the wires in the picture where you connected the resistor to.
Can you pls tell me the color of the wires. I have a day off tomorrow so I can work on these.
One wire is black..is the other one blue or green?
Thanks

Hi Dluvr22
I installed the resistor to passenger side taillight and everything works now (remote, brake and cruise)
Thanks a lot for your help.

Got an email from Spyder customer service (after a week) and they are saying that I will need 2 resistors..lol

Thanks again.

Anything to help out.
I think I read somewhere that the load resistor must be on the passenger side.
This is where the brake sense switch is connected to. Without the resistor the BCU thinks you are stepping on the brakes constantly. As a result

The cruise control automatically disengages when you try to turn it on as it thinks you are brake and the remote start does the same as it thinks your foot is on the brakes. Most remote start modules are designed to shut off if you or a thief tries to step on the brakes to change put the vehicle in drive and move off without the keys in the ignition - I'm sure this part is redundant and you already know it..

Anyway glad you got it fix and I could help.

Glad you folks figured it out, now I can go ahead and put my lights in.

PS I rarely use the Cruise

Good thing I found this thread.. I bought the same lights and having the same issues... I will have to get a load resistor and do this too...

Thought they had load resistors in them already in the boxes below...

I have been having cruise control issues since I installed the same lights.. Although mine were knock offs and not true spyders although you can't tell the difference so it makes me wonder if it isn't something where the company that builds them for spyder decided to sell them on their own too.

I contacted the company and only said my cruise control stopped working with their lights and they told me that I needed to install a load resistor on my brake line and told me the wires to splice into on the passenger side. And that they were sending one right out to me.

So was nice to have them act on it quickly. And for them to tell me the same thing.

Waiting for it... I actually have a couple load resistors for the front LED's I planned to install but not sure which wires to use... Just the turn signal to ground or between turn signal and parking lights. You would think it would be the turn signal to ground. I am also going to temporarily mount my 12" switchback LED strips from Jtoy (Or something like that) and see how they look before I decide if I am going to use them or not...

Also debating on if I want to partially tint these new tail lights. I might tint the sides and mask off the rear...

Rodney

I have to try my cruise again, if I remember right the cruise control worked.
