Hey, this weekend while at the Truck Fest here in AZ, I talked to a rep from Pro Comp, and some other manufacturers.....

By the middle of next month (June) all lift kits will be having a 5% increase due to the cost of steel going up....

Thought this info might be of interest to those contemplating a lift kit..... :B:

5% isn't bad... I'm in the garage door business and we're seeing 20-25% increases in cost and it goes up each month... gotta get this steel back on track!

Didn't they export all of the Steelworkers jobs like they are doing for the auto industry? Make the steel overseas for cheap labor then import it back here at a huge profit, whats wrong with this picture?

As a commercial electricain I am affected by this stuff as well.... (well the company I work for, which affects me and the ability for them to pay me...)

Electrical counduit is going up in price as well as copper...

The job I am on right now the main feaders for the medical center cost us $10,000..... when we bid the job the cost was only $3,000..... so we are eating 7grand just on the feeder wires, not to mention the conduit, branch wire, and everything else.... :E:

I think a lot of this is in part due to the US rebuilding IRAQ. The cost of Lumber has gone up for almost the last year since most is being shipped overseas to rebuild the countries that hate us.

Along with the price of lumber and concrete, not to mention gas

Concrete is getting very hard to get now, due to large dam construction in China. All of this when, I am thinking of building another house. Not the time to do it :C:

Plumbers are experiencing this also. Copper tubing has almost doubled in price. For a 10' Lenght of copper L the cost was 4-5 bucks Now it is 7-8 bucks
But yet if I go to the scrap yard it isnt worth anymore. Only about 75 cents a pound.
