Lifted 2500 With Pics

L

liftedAvalanche

GUEST
I didnt see any lifted Avalanches here so I am posting one. This is a 2500 with the 8.1 and gibson exhaust.

Nice looking rig....nothing like seeing my Av's older brother with a boost....by looking I would assume that's a 6" lift kit.....Fabtech?.... :B:

I really like the look of your front end. What mod did you do there?

No mod except for the triming I had to do around the tow hooks after the body lift. It's a 2500 so it does have the extra vent in the midle of the bumper for some better cooling. If your bumper cover is starting to curl away from the corners have the dealership order the 2500 bumper just for better looks.

Here's a better picture, those tires are big but they look so small in the pic.

Those lifts are looking nice guys, thats one way to solve the tire fit problem, 10" rims, my, oh my. Now all we need is a lowrider to complete the picture

No Gandoph, not 100 spoke 10 inch rims, mine are 16x10's! I had to get a wheel that was wide enough to fit 38's or 35's. Later after I get my new Vette or GTO to commute with I'll have to add a 6" lift to my 3"body lift. It will be the biggest Avalance in the world Mr Bigglesworth >:D

It did.....now your ready for some urban assault missions...... :B:

Briefing at 0800..

Bradyb, I thought that you were running 305/70's, but your sig says 315's, did you up the ante?

Hey, thanks guys ;D

I've had quite a few people tell me that they didn't like the AV until they saw what it looks like lifted. And I still get a few looks here in Thousand Oaks, CA. even though the town is lousy with AV's.

Some people still don't like it...love or hate it thing I guess ???

Anyway, this site's the best, keep up the good work (y) and I'll do my part to try and add some useful info.

Hey TunaHunter: I'm also in Thousand Oaks! Where did you get the lift done? I was told to go to suspension upgrades in Newbury Park....

I think I have seen you terrorizing the streets around here! >:D >:D

Hi Carrerarod! How's it going? I got the lift done at Conejo Off Road, I didn't even know about Suspension Upgrades otherwise I might have gone there - I actually live in NP, but figured no one has heard of it.

Conejo Off Road did a good job, but their waiting list is like two weeks long. Hard to have that much patience :)

What kind of AV do you have?

 >:DHey bradyb, what is that about the front bumper curling away, i need to know what to tell my service guy so he will order me a front bumper like that. I had not noticed the difference until i looked at your pics, really nice looking setup.
>:Dwhat do i have to curl off the front end to get a new bumper cover like that?????????????? ;D

ZeeYa.

The bumper cover edges that attach at the front edge of the front fendor will sometimes peel away from the body. Somebody somewhere posted a subject about them getting a free bumper cover becuase it was starting to peel away? Anybody know who that was?

hey tuna...,

picked up a black z71 last weekend.

suspension upgrade does most of the lifts for the dealers I am told. they are in that small industrial park near NP high school. near the harley restoration place. prelim quotes say around $2,200 for a 6 inch lift. Uses "RDC" products? never heard of that company before.

Conejo Off Road did my 'burb about 5 years ago. they do good work. i like the fact that the owner races 4x4...

Last week, huh? Brand new - very nice.

Never heard of RDC either, but the price isn't bad. 4" rancho costs right at 3g's.

I wanted the 6" Fabtech but Fabtech is way behind in production. I couldn't wait.

Let me know what system you decide on, I'd like to check it out when it's done.

Tunahunter, I assume that your 3g's $ figure for the Rancho is an installed price. 4wheelparts.com sells the the 4" Rancho kit for around $1800.

That's correct Steelheadchaser (nice name ;D),

But now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it was closer to 2500.00 installed...oh I can't remember. Wheels and Tires came out to another grand, and I thought the whole thing was about 4000.00 - I could be wrong though, it's happened before.

I must be in denial about spending all that cash!

Man I feel like a dope! I just now read your signature and saw that you HAVE a four inch Rancho lift! How do you like it? Would you buy Rancho again? How is the ride and handling? Do you have any photos? Have you found any downside to lifting? Was 4" enough, too much, just right? Thanks in advance!
