Light Off-roading in So. Lake Tahoe

My buddies and I are thinking about possibly cruising up to So. Lake Tahoe for 4th of July weekend. If I gots any time, I'd like to try some light off-roading. Wanna see what me AV and do.
So does anyone know of some place where I can get off the paved road? Nothing too serious...dirt trail, some shallow water holes...and some scenery. Maybe someone can point me to a website where this information is available. Thanks in advance!!!

Ahhh...it's shame you missed our GTG to S. Lake Tahoe a couple weeks ago...PM member Branded...he lives up there...led the GTG...knows the spots...but...on the weekend we all went the easy trails were still snowed over and we ended up on the Rubicon...not hard 4X4ing but I don't know if it's what you have in mind either...depends on your experience I guess...
