I found a cool website called:

http://www.stylinconcepts.com

I was looking for a lighted chevy bowtie 2" hitch cover with a 4 pin connector and found one for 15.00-20.00. It basically acts like a third brake light while protecting your trailer hitch.

They also had a segment for lighted bowtie grille emblems for 40.00-50.00 that looks really cool. Fits all Chevy trucks except 1999 and beyond Silverados. My questions for board members:

1 Anyone out there tried installing one of these?

2 Anyone ordered from stylinconcepts.com?

3 Are lighted grille emblems legal in most states?

4. Aren't 99 and up Silverado grilles similar to AV grilles? Why wouldn't it fit Silverados but OK for all Chevy trucks?

5 Anyone with a lighted emblem other than "chevy" or "bowtie" designs?

Mod fever is catching up. Ordered Testor paint pens, Stripeman decals, GM Protection package (bug deflector, mud guards, etc), and Auto Trim Designs Avalanche Mountains stickers and airbag sticker replacements. This stuff is addicting.

Next phase includes Westin or Nerf running boards, and backup alert system. :)

I had ordered my Platinum overlays from stylinconceps.com awhile ago....I didn't have any issues with the shipping....came UPS...and didn't take but 3-4 days since the time I placed the order....the only thing that set me off a little bit was the fact that the face gauge came with instructions for a FORD F-series.... :7: :8: :B:

I don't know about the differences between older and newer Silverados, but I do know that the bowtie on the Av is a bit larger than the one on the Silverado and Suburbans.

I'd be real careful here, as it is likely that the bowtie you're looking at will be too small.

If you really want that bowtie, I'd give them a call and ask them explicitly about this application. Also verify what their return policy is should it not fit: is there a restocking fee, who pays shipping, etc.?

As for the company, I've dealt with them and have had no problems. They are in Ohio, and several guys in the Northeast Ohio gang speak highly of them. I hear they have a nice store, I'll have to visit it the next time I'm in the area.

The web site you listed gave sizes for the lighted bowtie - why dont you measure yours and see. I however agree with SS that these will be too small for the AV.

You guys are right. The bowtie is huge--10 inches long and 3.5 inches tall.

The longest emblem is 7.5 inches long--too small

I just thought it would look cool, but there is nothing in our AVs that's small, I guess. :-[

I've bought from them before. Other than being a little pricey I've had no problems.
