Redaval, the trailer harness we are speaking of is the under body (on the frame) harness. Here are some connection pics:redaval said:what if you havent used your trailer harness...its in a drawer in the shop....where do you find power then...
Wow avatar . This sounds like a pro way to run the wires! Got any pics of this method?avatar said:another way to get wires from the pic josh posted to the bottom of the truck: (or actually all the way from underneath the sailpanel)
take the bedcovers off.
remove all four tiedown bolts on that side (15mm),
loosen the screws (torx) that attach the saddlebag hinges to the truck (4 of them),
remove the torx screws holding the rear handle in (3 of them),
remove the 10mm silver bolt under the latch for the saddlebag,
and remove the sail panel and the drain cover underneath it.
with this done you can pull the side of the bed up and swing in across the bed.
with the tailgate down you can remove the two screws holding the tailight.
pull the tailight out.
now you can see where the wire can be run all the way down from the sailpanel through the tailight hole to the underside of the truck.
sounds like a lot of work but its really not that bad.
I like what I am hearing from avatar a couple of posts above. Alternately, here is a quick (less professional) method of running the wires down through the side compartments:JJsnowking said:I have one question though. What is the best way to route the wires from the tool box to the trailer harness .........
JJsnowking said:It took me a few times to get this pic, everytime I went to take it they would be in the flashing state.

After I hunt down all four pairs of license plate lights I come across these:

A bit pricy at 22 bucks a pair, but good lookin - and it looks like they have a 1/4 X 1/2" size that should work - don't know how or if you could snug up the retaining nut.
