Lighted Sail Panel Screws

Not to bad mouth any other products out there, but.......

I chose this rout because i wanted increased visibility up higher than my tail lights.
The safety aspect of this will hopefully pay off.  This was why DOT mandated the third brake light location.

Reason two was cost.  Trailer harness ($25), Diodes/resistors/wire, ($10), Lights ($40), Results - Priceless if they save my back end :)

Reason three (not to hijack the thread or negate all the hard work above) I like the linear look.

If you look at these lights up close or in bright sun light they do have the copper/electronic appearance, but it actually blends in rather well.

Next mod will be the same lights mounted in cargo area!  Should be interesting?

My father-in-law wants his Suburban done too!

Hey 08 av z71 your lights look great.  Where did you get the rear window sticker and what was the cost?

Don't remember the actual site, but it was an ebay find.  Cheap $15 if I remember.

Well as long as we are posting late shots, here is mine:

Which lights are they z66modder, they are bright.

Anyone have an extra set of the plastic holders they want to unload?

I trimmed the metal ones and now a year later they are disintegrating.  :E:

has anyone done anything other than red sail panel led's? I have a som av, and was thinking about doing orange led's.

You could do that but don't hook up brakes to amber colored lights.

Gotcha, I was thinking about that after I posted...would kinda defeat the purpose to do anything but red I guess.

It would still make great turn signals and running lights!  (y)

Finally found the time to complete part two of my LED install.  Same flexible LED lights connected to the existing ones.
They are not as invisible as I would like during the day, but look great at night!

You did a good job of laying them straight. Are the sides hooked up to the turn signals?

The horizontals are actually 2 strips and are paired with the verticals.  They are hooked to the parking / turn / and brake lights.
The verticals have been on there since December and have held up well.
I was more worried about the cols than the heat.
I have power washed the vehicle several times without issue.
The strips come with 3M adhesive which seems to work well.
Had it in for service the other day and the dealer really liked them.  I was concerned about inspection as many sites do not accept non DOT lighting.

After several weeks debating if I should try this modification, I decide to do it.  I went with the pre-wired LED's from Oznium which came in Thursday and picked up the diodes and resistors from Radio Shack Saturday.  Spent most of Saturday afternoon making up the harness with the diodes and resistors and the LED lights.  I have it all hooked up to the trailer wiring harness under the bumper.  I have it fixed for the running lights, brake lights and turn signals.  Came out real good and the wife likes it.
Now it's time to figure what next modification I will do????
