Like a Rock...does your Av ever go to work with you?

Most of the advertisements/brochures with Avalanches show them at play as opposed to working, unlike those Silverado commercials with the manly trucks at the construction site, on the ranch, etc. Does your Av ever go to work with you? Do you use it for work?

Now, my Avalanche is usually at the corporate office under a parking garage. I had to be at one of my small jobs to fill in for someone for a few days, and just couldn't resist snapping a picture...

My Av didn't do any work that day. I, however, picked up a hammer and built some concrete forms and blistered my office hands :E: :cautious:

Got any pics of your Av with you at work? Do you use your Av for work? Don't you think there should be one of those "Like a Rock" work commercials just for our Avalanches?

I basically bought my AV for work. I'm building a house and have filled it up with lumber and other building materials on multiple occasions as well as pulling trailers full of building materials. I also do A/C work out of it and some ranching - hauling hay and horse trailers. Hauled some furniture with it just today!

My av is with me at WORK all day. and shows all year. Yes it's a show truck But I don't have a 2nd car. I have used it for everything from Delivering BIG TV"s (including 7 at one time to Judge Judy's house in Ct) My Muddy ATV in the back wood for the shop, and many other things.. It play's hard and Works hard.....

I just  :B: Avalanche

Glenn Enkei Av (y)

My AV is always workin'! Filled to the gills three times on Wednesday - midgate and tailgate down and stacked above the roof line with new product for a showroom. Tools and equipment yesterday and today. Tomorrow will start at 7am with a bunch of 12' long 2" aluminum tube headed to the metal shop and then to my shop for more tools for the jobsite and it'll load out everything from three days of interior work for the trip back to the shop in the afternoon. Just sayin' today how glad I was to have such a vehicle!

My Av mostly hauls me to and from work but I've done plenty of hauling from Home Depot and 84 Lumber.

BTW That's a great shot Rich!

systemflush is correct! that looks GREAT. (y) Never did like the ambers/always on till now. Now I understand why it looks so good with the park lights/turn signals... (y)

I also use mine for hauling mechinery for the company I own/operate... I'll find this topic again when I snap some pics when I get my units back(hopfully in one piece).

I hope it isn't sacrilege to say this: but think of the guy in one of the Hemi D***e commericals, the guy standing at the grill, burning hamburgers:

Sweet! >:D

So we know RichUF is in Construction Mangement (right?). Looks like danlwil might be a trim/finish carpenter?

Now, if Rich would have gotten a video of the Avy towing that crane...heh heh ;)

Regards,

-Joe

I'm a residential general contractor and use my on the job sites everyday. I think it's the perfect contractors truck.

ummm ummm well kinda mine works as a test drive AV when we don't have any AV's in stock ;D

pics! pics! pics!

We want to see pics of Avalanches at work ;D (or just posing like mine :2:)

Work truck? He11 yes!

I always thought you guys were hiding stuff under those covers.

AV's look great. Dirty tools and equipment hidden and secured. Can't tell a work AV from a Show AV.

I need to get me one :C:.
I want one :E:, I want one :E:, I want one :E:

Forgive my ranting.

 :B:

every day!! not really a work truck because I sit behind a computer but I drive it daily no matter where I go.

My AV was taking me to and from work daily, but now it stays at home for my wife and kids to enjoy all day..... They prefer to use the AV over the minivan, so once the this AV is paid for, I'll have to look at getting rid of the minivan and hopefully buy a new AV... ( probably next generation model, GMT900 Avalanche )

I use mine to haul my tools around, commercial and industrial construction, however I will not haul company tools or material..... if they want me to haul thier stuff, they can get me a compnay truck..... I am not making payments on my truck tosave them from owning work trucks.... so I have a general rule.... if it fits in the back of a mazda miata I will carry it in my truck, if it doesn't.... too bad....

Regards,

Grey

Not in the true sense of "work". However I have it with me every day and have from time to time used it there. Moved computer equipment from builing to building, hauled Traffic cones from storage to area used and back to storage, used it to block driveway when we didn't have enough cones, used to travel to our remote site on occasion. As well as the usual Lowes and HD trips on weekends.

I was hoping to see a pic of an avalanche getting a loader-full of gravel dropped on it from a high elevation or dragging logs or herding cattle or something like you see in the commercials LOL! ;)

wish I had thought to take pictures when I was pulling a 1 1/2 car garage down last month with the AV

I've had a LAU-138 Sidewinder missile laucher for an F-14 in the back of mine. Had to fold down the midgate to get it to fit in with the tailgate up. Kids thought it was pretty cool when I had it in the back of the truck overnight at home one night before taking it somewhere the next day for a meeting.

I drive mine to work everyday. Working at a local Chevy Dealership I get to demonstrate all my mods to my customers. I get alot of "whooa's, thats coooool , daaamn wish mine had that, and why didn't Chevy think of that" I then tag em and tell them they could do it also. I once towed in a broken down cop car with a very intermittent problem. My tech died out on a road test and nextel'd me for help. Lucky I had a tow strap in my side compartment. Av to the rescue............. dangerranger
