List Of Attendees For The Nationals

Biggie -

I agree that we should let Chief get his life back in order, but in the meantime, the club is suffering, and we need SOME sort of governing body to take over while Chief is away, it only makes sense that way...

That's what most are trying to get across, when only one person has so much power, and is unable to keep order, we need others that can stand in his place til he can come back 100%....

Exacta-mundo! Most excellent post! (y)

Many folks have publicly (and I'm sure privately, too) volunteered to help out with the many tasks involved w/running this club (off the top of my head: distributing club stickers, sorting/shipping SM stuff and organizing the National meet). (y) :D

Surely some of these things can be delegated, just as control of the board itself is delegated to gandolphxx and all of the moderators? The anger and accusations are disappointing to say the least. :6:

well who is after chief in power?
maybe they could run the site for a while and get everything in order.

To the best of my knowledge there is only one person who has the information on the following:

1. The national meet, hotel, and events.
2. Supporting member records.
3. Decals.
4. Advertising deals

It is very difficult for anyone to step up and continue without the information and communication needed to get the job done.

Cream floats to the top.

Sorry to say it, assuming if nationals still happen, I probably can't make it ?:-X. ?I just found out tonight that my baseball state championship tournament is July 23-27 . ? ?You can put me down as a maybe but that may be looking optimistic. ?I will certainly let you know what happens with my plans.

Well I am still well I am still coming if nationals is still on I just got my roof mounted luggage pod locking thing  today and I am ready to come to SD ;D

Where are the pictures, Lance?

I have attempted to remain positive about the National meet - but I am sorry to say that the list is dwindling and looking it over I can say that at least half the names that are there are going to be no shows as they have not reconfirmed at all in the past month. Given this and the fact that it is a 2 day trip and only around 20 to 25 AVs will show up if that many - I am shifting my attention to the Regional Meets - The East Coast Regional is only 16 hours for me verses 24 and it has a good plan together with almost 50 confirmations and more coming as the days get closer - SO I am going to go the the ECR and also I am spending my time planning the Southern Regional with Dave02z66 so that this event will be a great turn out as well - both of these Regionals are by no means on the scale of what the Nationals was envisioned but since the Nationals is collapsing and I and anyone else here are relatively helpless to stop it I am regretfully pulling my name and cancelling my reservations at the Ramkota. I am sorry to those that are disappointed for I am as well but the truth is it will be better to shelve this event and try again next year when things are better for everyone.

Thanks, Richard.

Ok Steelhead here is some pics. Also I feel the nationals is really falling but here is my view I am still going even if it does not work out I will go and tour around Rapid City ECT.... for any one else who wants to go I am staying at the KOA Park I know it has been said before lets just show up and have a good time even if we don't have a plan we can still tour around togeater do our planning on what we want to see that morning or night before I have been wanting to go on this since it was 1st said. And now having the time off I want to do something fun this summer. SO lets make this happen folks.

Ok Here is my new roof pod I got it for $221.99 a good deal considering GM is $350

Well I can't post the pic for some reason it says it is too big I will try to resize it.

Ok well I can't post pics now for some reason it says they are too big even after resizing and I got them small

I have to agree with this. We are planning a meet in the SoCal area for people who could not or did not want to go to National. I would like to invite everyone to this meet. It would be a good trip for Arizona, Oregon and Nevada AVs. Check the SoCal thread for the Pismo Beach and Dunes camping long weekend. We are still working out details, but many activities are possible. Both on road and off.

Avalance I'm with you. I haven't ever been to SD and Nationals or not I will be there taking in the sites. Still sounds like a good plan for diehard vacationers.

I am still going to be out there at the KOA.
Maybe it will just be me and Mdz66, who knows.

Look dont take this wrong but I had to make a decision on where to go and spend the few days vacation I get and the few dollars I have to spend on it and the decisionn came down to how far I had to drive and how much it would cost - so I decided that since the Southern Regional is one I have to make and the ECR was closer and a little cheaper that I would not go to South Dakota.
I had every intention of going even if the National event dwindled in scope to just a large GTG, but alas choices must be made - so I did. This does not mean I wish the Nationals to fail or be less deminished in importance - BY ALL MEANS if you intend to go regardless of how the event pans out it will be great as it only takes members of this club to make it so. ;)
I hope and wish all a great time - Also East Coast Regionals will be outstanding and Southern Regionals will be good - so consider these 2 events if the Nationals is not right for you. :) :D ;D

.....?no reason to drop out......

Sometimes you gotta wake up and smell the raw sewage :6: Not to start with you, but if Dogtown said they were going to have a event on X-date and then didn't say anything else about the event for a few months and then openly admitted that they had not done anything pertaining to the event nor talked to any event sponsors and then disappeared again, then you call the skatepark where said event was to be held and they told you that no one was coming, would you still go ? What if you had given $250 in registration fees ? What if Dogtown's phone was disconnected ? YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IN NATIONALS AND THAT'S GREAT !! But might I suggest that you think about all the reasons before suggesting to people that there is no reason to drop out. Registration fees $250, hotel $99/night, fuel avg. $150 each way, meals.... this is a very expensive deal for most and with no positive input from the event organizer...

Everybody take a deep breath.........and exhale. Now come join us at the East Coast Regional Meet.

Shameless plug!!! >:D >:D

Well I am gonna have to agree with Edward on this one.
One change though - it was 290 for me to register and 129 a night for a room and alot more for meals and fuel cause I was bringing my family - SO like I said it came down to purely economics - go somewhere closer where I know for sure many of my friends will be or chance it and end up going on a nice vacation (true enough) but without many of my AV friends, I wish all those going a great time but dont be so hard on those that decide not to go and attend another meet.

Richard

I have not heard any word on my Regisration refund either and Chief has not been back online since he stated Nationals was being either scaled way back or cancelled - that statement came from him - he also told me the same thing many weeks before that post - surely he can find a couple minutes to address this event for all those who are involved or at least those that have paid money.
I would consider all my money sent to this club as a donation to the betterment of the club except given the lack of payment to Jack for the server, the lack of reciept of supporting member packages by me and many others and of course the collapse of Nationals (as originally laid out) I dont know where the money would or does go. I want only for this site to continue and will be happy to give time and money toward that goal - but it needs to be done so that that money goes where it is supposed to.

Edward K, I totally agree.
I am still going because I can't reschedule my vacation to catch any of the Regionals at this time. I also enjoy vacationing in that part of the country. Yes, I realize that there may not be any other AVs out there, besides Biggie and his Dad, Mdz66. I no longer consider it the 'Nationals'. It's just vacation. But if there are others like me who are still going to Rapid City that week in July, it would be fun to get together with any of you, so I will be at the Rapid City KOA all week, with boyfriend, dog, and boyfriend's 13 year old son.

Site 74 Rapid City KOA
Arriving Sunday 20th, leaving Saturday the 26th.
Cooler full of 'refreshments'
Any AV's welcome to stop by!
