So basically you are saying the amount of depression upon the accelerator pedal is directly proportional to the rate of reduction of liquid fuel volume in the vehicle storage vessel and also the level of the operators monetary funds available for discretionary spending.

I remember reading that paragraph in the drivers education manual given to me by NASA.

Actually, with today's drive-by-wire systems, it wouldn't be directly proportional as that would suggest a linear relationship. Due to the lack of a physical cable connecting the driver's pedal position sensor to the butterfly valve position, there could be any number of mathematical relationships (tunings) between the two.

Also, sorry.

Unless, of course, the vehicle in question is an '02 Avalanche.

My '02 was drive by wire. They changed mid year sometime.....

I thought all 02's were drive by wire in all the full size vehicles, and in 03 they switched to the new electronic systems.

Drive-by-wire is a catch-all term that can refer to a number of electronic systems that take the place of old mechanical controls. Drive by wire is the new electronic system........

I posted this on the FB page:

I just realized that I can hit the "lock" button on the fob/door once and the doors will lock themselves after they are all closed. I've always just hit the fob twice....I've owned my truck for over 3 years now.  :beating:

The levers that lock/unlock the bed panels glow in the dark ! I never noticed until tonight - had the panels off in the lighted garage all day, when I turned the lights out tonight, I noticed the glow-in-the-dark on the handles.
How cool!

Ok... just found out another something...  on the 2013 you can pause/rewind/FF AM/FM/XM radio... like a DVR at home..

Hey Butch, we just press buttons and wait for something to happen, or not! The music stops and the wife starts, or vice versa. It is the new way of doing things.  >:D

I thought you were through with the shocks and moved on to the real issues?

Glow in the dark trunk release handles are pretty much standard these days.  I guess it's useful if you're ever kidnapped or something.

As a new Av owner I want this post to continue to go on and not get forgotten about. I have learned more by skimming this post then I did talking with the salesman.
Real life drivers are always better then owner manuals  (y)

Found the second center console under the main console up front. Great idea to keep certain things concealed while driving.
My buddy told me about it when he was complaining about not being able to lock his on a 2002 he had and lost the key. I told him my ignition key locks and unlocks mine... he was fuming!
