Long Crank no start when hot after sitting for over an hour

I have this issue that after driving my 07 Avalanche and letting it sit for a while she does not want to start, the engine will just crank and not fire up but then when you turn off the key and back on she fires right up. I have had it in the dealer thee times and three times I have gotten it back and still not fixed just getting new issues each time I take it in,

I was told today that they thank that because the truck is an 07 with 83,000 miles it has carbon build up on the valves not allowing them to close all the way.

My question Has anyone heard of this before, and wouldn't this cause it to be hard to start all the time.

Thanks
George

Sounds like BS to me!

Try turning the key to on for a second then off, then to start and see if that works, if it does then the pressure regulator is bad but the dealer should have diagnosed that but then it's the dealer. R.

I would perform some basic fuel pressure tests before I proceeded.

And then, I would proceed to a competent service shop instead of that dealer if repairs are warranted.

I wouldn't be using that dealer EVER again! You've received some good advice on here so far. Only other thing I can add is a possible bad ignition switch not making proper contact at first. But I would think this would be more intermittent.
