Looking Suburban-style Body-side Molding For WBH

I just got a new avalanche bse model WBH this weekend and I love it. ?I was wanting to add some body side molding similar to those on the nice suburbans or yukon XLs that have the chrome stripe and are painted to match the vehicle. ?Does anyone know where these can be found for a reasonable price. ?The dealer wanted $1300 for them and that is rediculous for a piece of plastic. ?I might even settle for the basic black avalanche side-moldings if I could find them. ? Also can anyone confirm that the fender flares for an 03 suburban are the same as for the Av WBH? ?Thanks everyone!

Have you considered GMC Sierra Crew cab moldings? I went to the local GMC dealer and have ordered some (seen some on a WBH on this site) and will put them on soon. The set only costs approx. $140 and since they are chrome I will not need to worry about painting them. The doors on the Sierra crew cab are the same and the molding will look great on my LPM WBH.

I did the same thing I went to a gmc dealer and order the front two moldings from a regular truck and I order the two moldings from a long bed crew cab (the bed moldings) they fit you rear doors. use masking tape to make a straight line or chalk line make sure the surface is clean.

THanks guys! I am gonna go look at the GMC website now. I had never considered the crew cab sidings before. DougD, you're Av has exactly the sidings I had in mind to put on mine. Did you get those at a Chevy or GMC dealer?

Chevy dealer. Those are direct from the Suburban parts bin ;) Any GM dealership can get them based on the part numbers I listed, so if you happen to have a good relationship with a local Pontiac dealer, for example, go for it there. There's also VanDevere and several other site sponsors you can order from. Just remember, you'll be needing to paint them. The door handles were available in a pre-painted to match color (that took some digging to find a Chevy/GMC vehicle that would have them available AND be offered in Victory Red, other colors may also have that issue)

Hey go to the topc that says GMC modings I post it on 5/21/03 there are pictures of my Avalanche WBH with GMC moldings and Suburban side steps hope you like it

I've been thinking of maybe going with the plain black GMC pickup moldings on my WBH. To keep the stealth, no-chrome look. And it would pretty closely match the existing dark trim. Although I'm not sure they have them for a Crew Cab. Not sure I've seen one with them. I could get the ones for the front door as that's what an SL has. I'm also going to use some of the Krylon Fusions paint (when I can find it) and paint the lower front valance black.

Someone on this forum recently installed body-colored flares on their Pewter Av. But I have no idea where the thread is, sorry

Krylon fusion paint is available at all walmarts

Except the one by me. Krylon, but no Fusions. I found Fusions at Auto Zone, but no black. I think the paint store (Major Brand Name and it escapes me) has some but haven't checked yet. :cautious:
