I have a 2006 Avalanche -dark blue and still love it. Back around 2010, I saw something on the Internet advertising a matte finish black plastic cover that went into the trailer hitch, and snapped under the bumper with a right and left hook attachment. It of course comes off when I am pulling a boat or jet skis. I have broken it and am trying to find another one. It has been a wonderful attachment to the vehicle and covers all the rear trailer hitch components when in place. I realize that they are certainly no longer made by the individual who sold them at the time. It is not OEM part by GM. Does anyone still have one they would like to sell or know where I might be able to find another one? Thank you. Bob Kogon

Thank you BainMan. I did find among my Avalanche papers, a schematic of the valance cover. Can you provide me with an email address so that I can forward the picture to you? Thank you. Bob

Hey bobkogon, sorry I didn't see the response until now. Did you get your project figured out?

If not, you can attach the file directly to this thread, or click my name, click start a conversation and attach the picture/file to that conversation.

BainMan. I was able to find a schematic of the valance that was sent to me, some 10 years ago with the valance, by an individual that apparently developed these for the Avalanche and it fit perfectly. I cannot find the guy's info anywhere and I recall that he only had a few left in any event. Please send me your email address so that I can attach a pdf picture of it. I just had the hood of my dark blue metallic 2006 Avalanche repainted, a window motor fixed, the 4 alloy wheels refurbished, and the tail gate handle apparatus replaced for the 4th time. I also had the molding around the windshield replaced and the car looks absolutely as beautiful as the day I purchased it. I will send you a picture of my vehicle when you send me your email address. I am just a dumb lawyer, who could not figure out a way to attach a picture to this thread. Thank you. Bob Kogon (561 324-4322 (bobkogon@bellsouth.net) You can text me or email me. Thanks again for your help. By the way, do you know where to get a replacement weather strip between the tonneau cover and the tailgate? The Chevy dealership locally in West Palm Beach, cannot locate one.

Bainman, I just saw the 'attach files' below link. I told you that I am not too sharp on the computer. I will send you a picture of my Avalanche when I get home tonight. There must be a way to find another one of these rear valances that I have used for years. I have looked all over Google and Ebay, but the guy who invented the part may not be offering them any longer. I have no idea why GM never
offered these black valances for all Avalanche owners as they slid nicely into the trailer hitch and made it look like you had no trailer hitch at all. Bob Kogon

STILL LOOKING FOR TRAILER HITCH COVER. I posted this thread back in July, but have now attached a diagram. I have a 2006 Avalanche -dark blue and still love it. Never seen that before but I am sure you could get some custom car builder or fabricator to make you one...
