I have the sport cloth power bucket seats in my AV, does anyone know what the little loops running down the seat backs are for?

Thanks,

It was discussed but not sure if a conclusion was derived.

Can an umbrella slide down through them like on a golf bag? or a flashlight?

No, fairly small size, fully opened about 1/2".
I noticed that the Northface edition has the same type of loops on the seat backs for the backpacks, I wonder if they intended on selling them seperate and just never did?

are there map holders on the back of those cloth buckets. I have the cloth bench and have map / magazine holders in the backs of my seats. maybe they where compensating for that with these loops. Maybe you can get one of those elastic net things for that?

There are already map pockets on the back of the bucket seats, has to be for something. BTW, I looked in the owners manual, NOTHING! I hate it when they design something like this and don't give anyone a clue to what it is for! :(

I am like 99.99% sure they are to be used with an elastic cord, laced between them like a shoe lace.

Hiking backpacks often have things like these.

Like this...

Maybe I'm slow.
If you lace an elastic cord thru them, what have you accomplished, or what do you use it for.

On true Backpacking/Camping backpacks, this cord is used to put sleeping bags, tents, raincoats, etc. Stuff that is too bulky to fit inside the pack, but that you still need to take with you on your hike and don't want to carry by hand. I guess in the avalanche, you can use it for what ever will fit there, like ice scrapers, a road atlas, etc.
