Well, I am just getting around to sending this update. I made it safe and sound after 1210.4 miles from Germantown, MD to home in Sanford, Fl on November 17th. Thanks to CorvetteJoe and Rene (sp) for meeting in Rock Hill, SC we had a nice time, hopefully it won't be the last.

I am in town, and begining to get acclimated and learn the area, roads etc. Seems like a daunting task :E: , but I will get through it!

I spoke with RichUF the other day and put my request for a GTG, probably after the holidays. I and my family would love to meet and get to know the Central FL guys. Oviedo, I drive through your town on my way to and from work...I think (see note above about learning :p).

Anyway hope to see you guys around, I will be at some point making the DRLs full time, and most likely amber so look out for me on the road.

Have a good safe Holiday Season and see you all soon.

Howard

It took me months to learn the roads in this city. Orlando was a small town that unexpectedly grew into a big city following Mickey's move here. There seemed to have been ZERO planning with road development. Anyway, you'll get it. The outlying areas (like the West where I live and the NE where you live) seem to be better planned, but I dunno. I hate to slam my own city (and your new home) but you will soon likely see that Orlando tries to act like a big city, but in many respects is still kind of small and "backwards"...not very metropolitan in many respects. However, the "City Beautiful" is indeed pretty, there is plenty to do, and of course the weather is great.

All of that is JMO. I hope you really enjoy living here, and hope we all Central Floridians can get together soon!

And no ambers yet? Come on man ;) ;D

Welcome Hbrenner. Hope the move went smoothely (y) You are very close to me, so let me know if you need help with the lights. We can definetly plan a GTG so we can meet ya. I would be more that happy to meet you somewhere(you can find) if you want to, for lunch or something. Let me know, also let me know if you need anything or help finding anything. Welcome to the Sunshine State

Yeah, the ambers I think I will tackle this day actually. I am interested in the full time DRL's and see that it is easy, but wouldn't mind an expirienced hand along with :). I will certainly call upon you guys around here for help. I am usually good with directions, but seem to be getting all turned around down here. It takes time I am sure. Anyway, I appreciate all welcomes and look forward to GTG etc. Talk to you all soon.

Howard

not much "tackling" involved...takes a couple of minutes to swap. I did it in dealers parking lot, LOL!

full time DRL's (and all4on high beams) was a little more involved. Different for my '03 than your '02 I think also. Take Oviedo up on his offer to help and you'll get a look at one mighty fine big-block Av >:D

Rich

PS and off-topic...

Was sweating bullets like I mentioned when the movers where man-handling my other 65" baby, but all went OK. BHN at new townhouse is as about as good as it can get for cable, which means tolerable for now. I still think the SA is a sorry excuse for a piece of hardware. Do a straight pass though of the analog and see what it does to the picture. You'll see what I mean

sorry...back on-topic...

Can you Fl guys please knock it off and stop bragging about Fl, I'm freezing my @ss over here in NYC shouveling this damn snow while you guys are hanging out in your pretty shorts and cute shades, anyway good luck HB, I might be next meeting you guys down there and doing some bragging my self.

Yes, I could help you out on the full time part. I am colorblind and I still did it in about 20 minutes. It's not to scary >:D Let me know

I was shoveling some dirt, before I was installing some new sod this weekend >:D

Man I thought snow was bad till I got here and saw all this SAND >:D. You know that just gets everywhere especially in your sandals >:D.

Okay enough of that now, Heavy you come on down anytime. I actually miss the snow, not the work or driving or anything else but the peaceful serenity it provides when it is new. Funny on my way to Fla when I meet CorvetteJoe, I gave him my ice scrappers, don't think I will ever need those here.

Howard

Rich, glad to hear all is well with the 65" baby! BHN sucks in my book but they have lots of HDTV. I am applying to the HOA for a dish approval now, so we shall see.

Oviedo,
I may have to catch up with you this week sometime for the DRL's, I think I have it but always like a support. I will get my ambers today when I leave work.

   I'm sure you know the standard FCC response for this, but I guess it can't hurt to be nice and "play the game" May be a little tricky for you with "common" area or whatever, and a roof that you may not "own" (?)

good luck.

No problem, glad to help...Im me if you need my cell # or let me know here.
Dave

Rich, does "nail on the head" mean anything to you! You are absolutley correct. I am interested in becoming a board member so playing by the rules is the name of the game.

Oviedo (Dave)
Send me you number, not sure I have it. Either IM here or email to my profile e-mail.

At the moment I'm thinking of buying a lot down there and in the future start building a house right now I'll take sand over snow anytime,

You and everyone else it seems ;D

Funny, because as I watch all the snow over the last week in the NE I keep finding myself wanting to experience that sometimes in my life. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, the weather here is great (y)

Hello Hbrenner,

Welcome to town, I live about 20 minutes north of Sanford.

A GTG after the holidays sounds like a good idea. There is going to one in St. Augustine towards the end of January. Some talk was also made about meeting at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville.Maybe even going to Blue Spring Park (Orange City) to see the Manatees. I'm sure our coordinator (RichUF) will keep us informed. Had to throw that one in there Rich. >:D >:D

Later,
Greg

I've had ice on my windshield here in Tallahassee, but nothing a splash from the hose couldn't fix. ;D That only happens about 15 times a year, and that's pushin' it.

Mmmmmmmm.....Dixie Crossroads, gotta love a few dozen rock shrimp and a few dozen beers to go along with them.

Greg...I used to live off of Cassadaga road a few years ago right off of MLK Parkway. I will be coming back to the area later this week and spend alot of time there at the "ranch" since my in-laws are still there. Keep an eye out for a Green Z-71 with Amber DRLs. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Look for me, I am Amber as of today. Did the at 7:30am. Big Indigo Blue w/ Ambers is me, oh yeah I have a American flag Bowtie from JoeW too!

Oveido, I will be calling maybe after work we can hook up for a few to do the full time DRL's. I got your number and will reply with mine.

gatorray,

I live just north of Cassadaga, near the intersection of 15A & 17/92. The AV might be in the shop over the weekend (rear end clunk when going from reverse to drive), so if you someone in a 95' black Jeep flashing there headlights at you that would probably be me. Anyway I'll definitely keep an eye out.

This weekend (12/13-14) is going to be crazy, shoot me an E-mail and maybe we could meet at Gators for some wings.

Greg

Cool....I will keep an eye out for you. This weekend is probably bad for me, but that Gators in Deland brings back some memories.

By the way, who do you bring your AV to for service? I will be due for an oil change while I am down there.

gatorray,

Fred Bondesen is the closest.

I take the AV to Jon Hall in Daytona for any service items. Jon Hall did an awesome job to fix my water leak in the mid-gate area. (y)

Talk at you later,
Greg
