I searched around for ideas on how to install a 2 D cell MagLite. I wanted it in the cab, and easily accessed. And I wanted to use MagLite brackets rather than having to fab something. Mission Accomplished
I got this idea from a Taco website. I used stainless button head machine screws and lock washers and nuts, with the threads being inserted from behind the plastic panel so that there is no interference with the steel seat frame. Use a Dremel to slightly relieve the brackets so that you can tighten the nuts. Use flat washers under the screw heads to distribute force against the plastic seat panel. I used painters tape to set a horizontal datum to align the holes I drilled. And I drilled an extra set of bracket mounting holes in case I want to upgrade to a 4 cell light.
/ oh, and everything used here is Made-in-USA. As in, Made-in-USA No input. Yes, I’m still smarting that the truck was not made in Oshawa or Texas
