Matching factory tint

But keep in mind that in most states 20% on your front doors is illegal. ;)

I got my Opthamologist to write me a prescription for a 10% tint. Submitted that to the state and got medical exemption.

I just got 5% all the way around including the back doors which make it extremely dark. i dont think oklahoma cops care too much about the tint, used to have a dodge with 5% and was never stopped.

Can anyone tell me what percentage the rear windows are from the factory? I would like to tint my front windows to match the rear. I have attached a picture of my 2010 Avy. Thanks 20200903_074038.jpg

I don't know the percentage but depending where you drive, be ready to be pulled over if you darken it. I had Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane busting my chops in Wheeling, WV that "IF YOUR FRONT WINDOWS WERE AS DARK AS YOU REAR, THAT WOULD BE ILLEGAL!!" To which I replied, "But they're not.". He repeated it at least 3 or 4 times to which I gave the exact same answer. I finally had to politely inform him that he had to take it up with Ford since they came from the factory that way when we bought our Flex new.

Wow talk about waking up an old thread.... about 12 years since last post. :)

As others have said, check local inspection or state laws for your area so you don't have problems. Other old threads have links to websites to keep drivers aware of laws in each state. Then I'm sure most long term shops know how dark of a tint can be applied to try and match the rear windows.

I went with 35% ceramic and it matched purdy good...and stayed legal

That looks pretty good, I think I'll be going with 35%, I have an appointment today to get it done. They don't really bother you in Ohio unless you have a past history of breaking the law. My wife's Jeep is just as dark as the other windows and we've never had a problem. I may just go a little bit darker, lol
